Nash sheriff's deputy nominated for U.S. Marshal post

The chief drug enforcement officer of Nash County has been nominated to become a U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

Scott Parker was nominated Thursday by President Barack Obama for the post, Barb Barrett reports. Parker joined the Nash County sheriff’s office in 1995 and now is commander of the narcotics division.

He previously served as an assistant commander with the Roanoke-Chowan Narcotics Task Force in Hertford County, and before that was with the Nashville Police Department.
Parker must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
