The old Dairy Queen on Western Boulevard in Raleigh will soon have a new tenant inside.

The restaurant is located at 3817 Western Blvd.
Replacements Ltd. says there will be no rain date for the canceled sidewalk sale.
Spokeswoman Lisa Conklin said, "October through January marks our busiest time of the year, so we need to start focusing on the holidays. We'll put all the product back in storage, and tentatively plan to hold it for a sidewalk sale in the spring."
Just got word that Replacements Ltd. is canceling its big sidewalk sale, which was supposed to be held this weekend.
The company is canceling the sale due to inclement weather since there is so much merchandise that the sale cannot be held indoors. No rain date has been announced yet. I will let you know when I hear more about the sale being rescheduled.
There's good news today for farmers market fans. The North Raleigh Farmers Market has been extended to year-round.
Because of the change, the market's hours have also been tweaked. Starting immediately, the market will be open Wednesdays 2 to 6 p.m. The farmers market meets in the Falls River shopping center off Durant Road.
I just found out that Jimmy John's will be opening a new location in the old Blockbuster spot at the intersection of Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road in Raleigh.
The sandwich chain has been expanding quickly, but this will be the first area location with a drive-through.
Franchisee Dan Mall says the store should open in late November or December.
An interesting piece of news from the latest e-newsletter for the Chatham Marketplace co-op in Pittsboro: Effective Oct. 1, Chatham Marketplace will no longer be offering new plastic bags at the checkout. The Marketplace will still offer paper, boxes, used plastic (you can bring yours in to the store to donate for recycling) and will also sell its trademark purple shopping bags for 99 cents instead of the regular $1.49.

If the opening of the LEGO store earlier this year was any indication, I would say there might be some of you who are interested in this upcoming event:
The LEGO Tour will be making a stop at the N.C. State Fair from Oct. 15 through Oct. 18.
The tour is a multi-city extravaganza featuring LEGO trivia, a LEGO city, a family building challenge and a discovery zone. You can read more about it here.
The Popsicle company folks are trying to get folks to follow them on Twitter.
So the company is running random giveaways for folks who join up as followers. I tried to read the official rules, but they are a bit too legal for me. From what I gather, though, the company is hosting random giveaways on its Twitter page, and you have to be a follower at the time the giveaway is offered to win.
So if you Tweet, go on and join up. It can't hurt, right?
And while you're at it, sign up to follow me, too! I'm @sue_stock.

You may remember a story I wrote about a company called Encaff that was making a line of caffeinated doughnuts.
Well now, Dr. Bob Bohannon of Durhamis at it again, going straight for the caffeine with his new product: Encaff Energy Stix. The stix are a flavored powder you put directly on the tongue, unlike other products that must be mixed with water. Each stix contains 75mg of caffeine. They are sold in packs of two, at a retail price of $2.99.
You can get them on the Web site: www.encaffenergy.com.
