For all the moms who like to shop the Divine Children's Show consignment sale, it begins today. Word is that the normal fall overstock show is not happening this year, so this is your only chance for awhile.

Men's Wearhouse has brought back its National Suit Drive again this year.
Through the month of September, all Men's Wearhouse stores will collect used suits, dress shirts, sport coats, slacks, ties, belts and shoes that will be used to benefit men who need such items to transition into the workforce.

Cameron Village is bringing back Scoop Sunday this weekend, and this time it's with the center's new tenant: Goodberry's Frozen Custard!
The new Goodberry's store won't open for a few weeks but they will be dishing out free scoops of chocolate, vanilla or the flavor of the day (hmmmm?) from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The store is on Clark Avenue between Daniels and Woodburn.

Today, the proceeds from every Blizzard sold at three area Dairy Queen stores will be donated to the Duke Children's Hospital.
So if you ever needed a good reason to go get some ice cream, there you go.

In Apex, there's a big consignment sale this weekend.
The Friendship Closet features gently used clothing, toys and equipment for babies, children and maternity. It's a fund-raiser and mission outreach of the Friendship Circle at Apex United Methodist Church, raising money for local women's and children's missions.
The sale will be open to the public Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. (when select items will be marked down to half-off). Cash and check only, at the Apex United Methodist Church, 100 S. Hughes St. in downtown Apex.
This weekend at Durham's Northgate mall, the local chapter of Dress for Success will be hosting a "Summer in Style" sale. The charity collects gently worn or new women's business attire and puts it in the hands of women coming from disadvantaged situations who are seeking a job.
During the sale, accessories, shoes and clothing will be sold at a discount to benefit Dress for Success. The items are those that have been donated but aren't work-appropriate or items where the charity received too many pieces that were the same size. The money will be used to buy additional clothes, clothing, etc., that fit the current needs of Dress for Success.
The sale will take place in the Macy's wing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The N.C. Department of Commerce mobile JobLink bus will be making stops at Northgate mall weekly this summer to help people looking fo rjobs.
Starting this week and continuing through October, the bus wll be there every Monday and Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be located in the Sears parking lot at the Guess Road entrance.
