Rubbermaid FastTrack rebate...

And here's another good rebate...

I have long said that the folks at Rubbermaid are really smart. They invent products that help OCD folks like me organize our lives. Since I would bet a lot of you are trying to clean house this weekend, I thought I'd post this rebate from Rubbermaid on its FastTrack organization items. Buy $50 worth and you can get $10 back by mail. You can find the details here... The offer is good through Sept. 15.

Free butter...

Well, who couldn't use free butter?

Land O Lakes is offering a "Try Me Free" rebate on its half-stick butter. Basically, it's the same amount of butter as a reglar package, but instead of coming in four quarter-pound sticks, it comes in eight eighth-pound sticks. That's OK with me, especially if it's free!

So, you'll need your receipt (dated no later than Oct. 15, 2008), the UPC from the package and the rebate form, which you can download below. The max. value is $4.39, so make sure your purchase price is $4.39 or less.

Carapelli dipping bowl...

For those of you who like to have olive oil for dipping your bread, Carapelli is offering a dipping bowl by rebate.

The bowl is "free," though there's a $4.95 shipping charge. If you bought Carapelli when it was BOGO a few weeks ago at Kroger, that would qualify. You need the $4.95, the receipt and the rebate form, which you can download below.

A bunch of new laws

Bears. Solar panels. Fingerprints. Rebates.

Those are just a few of the items that get some attention in a batch of new state laws that take effect today.

The legislature has made it illegal to for hunters to bait bears with processed foods, barred cities, counties and homeowners association from stopping residents from installing solar panels on their property, required anyone arrested for impaired driving to be fingerprinted, and required companies to mail rebates to consumers within 60 days.

The legislature also allowed victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking to legally change their names without having their new names made public. Also, starting today, it's illegal to smoke inside nursing homes and other assisted-living facilities.
