Try a Tyson Skillet Meal free...

Tyson is offering a mail-in rebate on its new Skillet Creations meals.

It's a "try me free" rebate, meaning the company will refund your money simply to get you to try the new product. Seems like a good deal to me. You have until Oct. 31 to make the qualifying purchase, and the price will be refunded up to $4.99. You can find the form online here or simply download it below.

Examine your rebate checks...

You guys know I love my rebates, but here's a cautionary tale...

A post over on the Consumerist Web site tells the story of one "Snuggie" owner who received a rebate check in the mail that looked legit. But when she examined it more closely, she found that it said that by endorsing the check, she would be signing up for a marketing service and charged $149.99 annually until she canceled.

Yikes!

The lesson: make sure that you examine the rebate checks you receive and know why you are receiving them. If you aren't sure, it might just be a clever marketing scheme.

Fuel for School is back...

As I mentioned in Wednesday Deals this morning, the always-popular Kellogg's Fuel for School rebate is back.

I am guessing we will see a printed version of the rebate form in a coupon insert soon, maybe this weekend. But if you can't wait, you can also access the form online here. You will need to register for the Kellogg's Web site before you are allowed to download the form.

The deal is that you get a $10 rebate when you buy 10 qualifying Kellogg's, Sunshine and Keebler products. This year, you also get a coupon code good for $70 from Dell. Be sure to read the fine print: you have to send in the UPC codes and all the purchases have to be on one receipt. NOTE: If you're going to do this one, the Lowes Foods deal this week where you get $3 off when you buy five qualifying items might be a good double dip.

Marley & Me rebate...

There's a new $3 mail-in rebate when you buy the "Marley & Me" DVD and specially marked Kelogg's and Keebler products.

You can download the form below.

Free cheese from Alouette...

The Alouette company is offering a try me free rebate on its baby brie wedge or smoked baby brie wedge cheese. You have until the end of the year to make the qualifying purchase, so this one should be pretty easy to do. And hey, it's free cheese! Click the link above to find the details and the link for the form.

Free chocolate...

Oh boy, I bet that got your attention!

Books-A-Million is offering a mail-in rebate on Luxe Milk chocolate products purchased by July 15.

You'll need the UPC code from the package and the Books-A-Million store receipt.

There is also a similar Ghirardelli chocolate rebate at Staples stores. You can find that one here. That one is good through June 27.

Freebie from Blue Bunny...

Here's an interesting Memorial Day offer from Blue Bunny.

Buy a Aspen or Sedona Blue Bunny novelty product this weekend (May 23-May 25) and you can get a refund of your purchase price from Blue Bunny. You must purchase on one of those three days only, and you must mail the rebateby June 10.

Here's the form...

Pizza that pays your bills...

There's a really interesting offer from Tombstone Pizza where Tombstone offers to help you pay your utility bills. Buy seven pizzas and get a $5 credit. Buy 12 pizzas for a $10 credit. Or 17 pizzas for a $15 credit.

You have until January 2010 to mail in your UPCs from the pizzas, and no receipts are required, so it does not appear that you have to buy 17 pizzas at once.

You do have to provide your utility provider's name and your account number, so it would seem they really do work out a way to credit your actual account. At any rate, if you are interested, the form is below...

A ConAgra rebate...

I posted a few weeks ago about a coupon book you can request from ConAgra full of coupons, including one for a free bottle of Hunt's ketchup.

But I totally missed the mail-in rebate offer at the bottom of the page! The deal is basically buy $25 in qualifying products and get 10 back. The purchase period ends on May 29. Read all about it and print your rebate form out on the BOTTOM of this Web site. The place where you can request the coupon book is at the top.
