Eight Ball: 3-for-4

Chalk up another hit for the Magic Eight Ball.

Tolson said today that he would take the job.

The current standings:

Eight Ball 3-for-4, N.C. Spin 1-for-2, TechJournal South 1-for-1, N.C. Policy Watch 1-for-1.

Eight Ball on Tolson

It's time for more Magic Eight Ball.

That's the regular feature on Under the Dome where we pit hard-working reporters' anonymous scoops against a plastic toy made by low-wage factory workers.

This week's contenders: TechJournal South.

In a June 19 exclusive, the business magazine writes that E. Norris Tolson, secretary of the Department of Revenue, will be the next president and CEO of the N.C. Biotechnology Center.

The source close to the Center tells TechJournal South that Tolson was offered the position and has accepted it. The Biotech Center has said it expects to announce its board’s decision in late summer. The board apparently has not yet made a formal decision.

The Magic Eight Ball says: Without a doubt.

We'll check back when the Biotech Center announces its next president.
