A home bought by U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry was publicly listed for sale.
A story in Roll Call this week noted that the Cherryville Republican bought a house from Gaston County Commissioner Allen Fraley last October.
The article did not note that the house had been on the market, however. A search of the Multiple Listing Service used by real estate agents shows it was publicly listed for seven months that year.
The MLS report shows the house at 806 Requa Road was listed for sale on March 13, 2006. The asking price was $94,900.
McHenry purchased it for $87,500, though a local revenue official later appraised it for $113,000.
The listing agent was Guyann Fraley, the wife of Allen's brother, John.
