And now: An exclusive interview by Barb Barrett with one of Capitol Hill's Most Beautiful.
(Hey, it's the closest we get to celebrity journalism around here.)
Jeff Eisenhauer (a 26-year-old Republican and "floppy-haired blonde" from Winston-Salem) was strolling to lunch with friends one day this spring when a reporter and photographer stopped him, admired him and photographed him for The Hill newspaper.
He thought little more of it until this morning, when he showed up on its annual list of beautiful people.
More after the jump.
"Congress" and "sexy" don't usually go together.
But The Hill, a Capitol Hill newspaper, has enough of a sense of humor to publish an annual list of the 50 Most Beautiful People on the Hill, including lawmakers, staffers and the occasional journalist, Barb Barrett reports.
Three men from North Carolina made the list (alas, no women):
* Rep. Heath Shuler, 35, of Waynesville, a freshman Democratic lawmaker. The Hill likes Shuler's "Crest perfect smile and perfectly whitened teeth" and calls him "tall and handsome," but points out that he’s married with two small children. He’s shown leaning on a desk in his office.
* Jeff Eisenhauer, 26, a Republican from Winston-Salem. Eisenhauer is a mail manager for Sen. Richard Burr and a former Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania, whom The Hill describes as a "6-foot-1, tanned, surferesque Republican." The paper calls him a "floppy-haired blonde," and has him photographed in a GQ pose with the U.S. Capitol behind him.
* Another North Carolina beauty, Trevor Kincaid of Durham, doesn’t work for any local members. Kincaid, 24, is the deputy communications director to Sen. Tom Carper, a Delaware Democrat. The Hill calls him a "fit, full-lipped Aquarius" and describes him as a Southern gentleman who loves to cook and go rock-climbing.
