RWCA endorses Hagan

The Raleigh-Wake Citizens Association announced two more endorsements today.

The black voters group in Raleigh endorsed Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue for governor and state Sen. Kay Hagan for U.S. Senate.

The group added today's endorsements to a list of Democrats, including Hampton Dellinger for lieutenant governor and Robin Anderson for labor commissioner, that the group supports in North Carolina's May 6 primary.

Perdue and Hagan both said they were honored to be recognized by the RWCA, which has advocated for Wake County minorities since 1932.

People's Alliance announces endorsements

The Durham-based People's Alliance released its endorsements Wednesday.

The liberal political action group endorsed candidates for local and state offices contested in the May 6 primary, choosing state Treasurer Richard Moore for governor over his opponent, Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue.

Endorsements went to state Sen. Kay Hagan for U.S. Senate, Durham attorney Hampton Dellinger for lieutenant governor, Janet Cowell for state treasurer and David C. Smith for insurance commissioner.

The group opted not to choose between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primary.
