The same McDonald's stores that gave away free breakfast for moms on Mother's Day are doing right by dad on Sunday. Bring your dad to the McDonald's locations below between 6 and 11 a.m. Sunday and he'll receive a complimentary breakfast and medium regular coffee or soda. You can also register to win a $25 Lowes gift card. Valid for dine-in only, each father must be accompanied by his child(ren). ONLY at the following locations:

Raleigh-Durham area Panera Bread stores will be giving away free samples throughout the day of the comapny's new Chopped Cobb Salad (pictured), Strawberry Poppyseed Salad and refreshing frozen drinks. Sounds very summery!

Just a quick reminder that Krispy Kreme is giving every customer one free doughnut today.

Of course, the lone Krispy Kreme store in the Triangle is the one on Peace Street in Raleigh. If you go, expect it to be crowded!

For the night owls out there, Sonic is offering free 10 oz. root beer floats tomorrow (Wednesday, June 3) from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Cameron Village's super popular free ice cream promotion will be returning on Sunday with a new Scoop Sunday event.

From 1 to 5 p.m., the Baskin Robbins store at Cameron Village will be giving away free scoops of vanilla, oreo, mint chocolate chip and strawberry.

Raleigh-based Kerr Drug will be at the Got to be NC event this weekend at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh offering free blood sugar and cholesterol screenings.

The Got to Be NC Festival is a showcase of North Carolina agriculture and agricultural businesses. There's free gate admission, free parking, a free classic car show and free admission to the NC Food and Wine Expo.

This has been out there for awhile, but I thought I would post it for those of you who have not seen it yet.

E-music is offering 25 free downloads when you sign up for a free trial of its service. The downloads work with iPod and a number of other MP3 players. Be sure to read the fine print. I think there is a monthly fee that you have to cancel if you want out after the trial is over. Check it out here. 

Wal-Mart Supercenters will be doing its annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday, providing free frozen treats to shoppers. Treats will include Ben and Jerry’s Flipped Out Cup ice cream, Blue Bunny Aspen Frozen Yogurt Granola Bars and Dibs Snack Bags. The event will run from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. at participating Supercenter stores.
