Free movie admission...

The Raleighwood movie theater in Raleigh is offering an interesting promotion...

Purchase a Raleighwood T-shirt for $10 ($12 for XXL) and receive a free movie admission every Wednesday from July 29 through Oct. 28. The "free" is a bit questionable because the offer then goes on to say, "The free movie admission requires a $5.00 per person minimum food or beverage purchase." But if you're the type that would be buying popcorn anyway, that still could be quite a steal for a summer's worth of free movies.

If I understand correctly from reading about the offer on the Raleighwood Web site, there are only 300 shirts that will be sold. The site rightly points out: "The road to disappointment is paved with procrastination!"

Free pastry at Starbucks....

Try a Tyson Skillet Meal free...

Tyson is offering a mail-in rebate on its new Skillet Creations meals.

It's a "try me free" rebate, meaning the company will refund your money simply to get you to try the new product. Seems like a good deal to me. You have until Oct. 31 to make the qualifying purchase, and the price will be refunded up to $4.99. You can find the form online here or simply download it below.

Win free Value Meals...

On July 14, the new green McDonald's in Cary will open to the public at noon (that's the store at 1299 Kildaire Farm Road that was torn down and rebuilt).

To celebrate, the store will be giving the first 100 customers through the doors and the first 100 customers through the drive thru a certificate entitling them to 12 free extra value meals. Sometimes it pays to be at the front of the line...
