Just a friendly reminder that Triangle-area Moe's Southwest Grill restaurants will be giving away a free "Joey Jr." burrito today. The Joey burrito is between the regular-size burrito and the kid's size. The burrito contains your choice of meat, fish or tofu, black or pinto beans, rice, pico de gallo, lettuce and shredded cheese wrapped in a warm tortilla. The promotion runs pretty much all day, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is one per person. Also, the 10,000th guest will receive free Moe's for a year.

A reminder that you can sign up for a coupon for a free bottle of Suave. This is a one-day promotion, so don't dally. And don't be surprised if the Web site is slow. When Dr. Pepper did that freebie last month, its Web site slowed down to a crawl (though, I did receive my coupon in the mail, so no complaints).

Here's one for all of you early morning folks...

Tomorrow at 6 a.m., the McDonald's at 3710 Western Blvd. in Raleigh will reopen after a big renovation. The new restaurant has a N.C. State theme, and to celebrate its new look, it will be giving away vouchers for 12 free extra value meals to the first 100 cars through the drive through and the first 100 people who make a purchase at the counter. That's 2,400 free meals!

Just a reminder that Dr. Pepper is giving away coupons for a free 20 oz. bottle of Dr. Pepper tomorrow in conjunction with the release of the new Guns N Roses album, Chinese Democracy.

If you're missing the tie-in, the best I can figure is that the release is happening on the 23rd and Dr. Pepper touts its 23 flavors. You will be able to request your free coupon on the Dr. Pepper Web site starting 12:01 a.m. They will mail you the coupon, which will be good through Feb. 28, 2009.

Once again this year, the Hair Saloon for Men is offering free haircuts to veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11 (tomorrow). The store is located at 3675 SW Cary Parkway, adjacent to The Fresh Market and Char-Grill. No appointments necessary. You can call the store at 919-481-9886 for more details.

And once again this year, Golden Corral restaurants will be giving a free dinner to active military personnel or veterans from 5 to 9 p.m. on Veteran's Day. [Edit: This dinner is Monday, Nov. 17]
