Webkinz promotion...

Since I don't have kids, I'm not sure whether the Webkinz craze is still as hot as it once was. But if you have kids that are still into Webkinz, here's a promotion you should check out. To celebrate the Webkinz World third anniversary, a huge network of retailers all over the country have agreed to participate in a special promotion that begins tomorrow (Friday, April 25). Participating retailers will give away one Webkinz plush toy AT NO EXTRA CHARGE to the first 500 customers who make any in-store purchase of $10 or more. You can search for a participating retailer near you here.

New milk options at Harris Teeter...

A company from Phoenix called Shamrock Farms is introducing its single-serve milk products in Harris Teeter stores.

The milk jugs have been for sale in some Harris Teeter stores since December, but now they are available at all Harris Teeter locations. Stores will stock 12-ounce bottles of chocolate milk, whole milk and 2 percent, along with 8-ounce "Shamrockers," which are pictured here and are obviously designed to appeal to kids. The 12-ounce bottles sell for $1.29 and the 8-ounce bottles sell for 89 cents.

One more thing I think is worth noting here: Shamrock Farms is a family-owned dairy, and that is something becoming more rare nowadays in all parts of the country.

Just 4 Kids sale is coming up...

For those of you who like consignment sales, the Just 4 Kids sale is coming up soon. Just 4 Kids is a sale that's held twice annually in Fuquay-Varina. Merchants sell gently used children's items including clothes, toys, videos, strollers and and furniture. One of the things I like most about this sale is that the consignor fee is a reasonable $5 and you get to keep 75 percent of the asking price of your items. The sale will be held March 16 through 21 at the Life Spring Community Church in Fuquay (501 Wake Chapel Road). You can check out the sale Web site here.
