Sarah over on our Mom2Mom site has a special offer for the Cirque Dreams kids' show at the Durham Performing Arts Center on Sept. 16.
Tickets prices normally range between $25 and $55. But through this link, you can get them for between $13.50 and $28.50. (There is a convenience charge, though...
For those of you who shop REI, the big garage sale has been added to the calendar.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, REI has a big sale once or twice a year called the garage sale. They sell all their slightly damaged or otherwise imperfect merchandise at bargain prices. It is extremely popular.
For the North Hills store, it looks like the sale begins on Sept. 20. The Cary store starts on the 19th, and the Durham store on the 26th. Mark your calendars.
This deal comes with a fair amount of fine print, but I imagine it will interest some of you.
Through Friday, World Market is offering you a FREE companion airline ticket when you spend $100 or more on the World Market Web site.
The fine print highlights: You must buy a ticket to get the free one. Blackout dates apply. Limited to a number of cities (though Raleigh and Charlotte are on the list). 14 day advance purchase required. Saturday night stay may be required.
To read the full details, go to the offer page here.
Soles4Souls and Moxie Kids at Cameron Village will collect gently worn adult and children's footwear through Aug. 30. The shoes (and any monetary donations) will go to people in need like victims of natural disaster or people living in extreme povertly.
When you donate a pair, you will get a 15 percent discount off a new pair of fall shoes.
That's a great way to get a discount!
I got an interesting e-mail from Petco today. The company is offering a coupon code for free shipping on orders of $40 or more through the end of the month. But here's the twist: the code in the e-mail is specifically for me, and the e-mail encouraged me to share my code with my friends.
If three friends use my personalized code, Petco gives me a $10 credit. If mine is the most-used code of them all, I get $500.
I'm kind of curious to see if this thing works, so I'm going to test it out. Here's my personal coupon code. (I promise that whatever money I receive from Petco will go to a pet-related charity in our area.)

Jiffy Lube has introduced a new rewards program where you get 50 percent off every third oil change.
The program is free, but there is some fine print. The biggest thing is that you have only 180 days to bring your vehicle back for its next visit. So you have to get your oil changed every three months. No stretching it to four. But for those of you who drive a lot, it's probably a good deal.
You can find the program at www.jiffyluberewards.com.
For those of you who missed the notice in yesterday's Harris Teeter flier, the company is expanding its Club 60 program. It is now being offered company-wide.
Club 60 offers shoppers who are 60 years of age or older a 5 percent discount on their purchases every Thursday. Until now, it hs only been offered in select stores. The discount is taken after coupons and other discounts are applied (unfortunately). If you wish to participate, you must remember to ask for the discount when you check out. The first day is today!
To celebrate its 16th year in business, Buffalo's Cafe is offering another great Wednesday deal. (Everybody loves Wednesdays this month!)
Every Wednesday in August, customers can buy 10 Buffalo wings for $1.60, rather than the regular $7.49 price. That's a good deal! It's offered for dinner patrons only. Buffalo's is located at 7504 Creedmoor Road in Raleigh.
The Triangle Dry Cleaners chain is continuing its Wild Wednesdays promotion this month. Each Wednesday, the chain offers a different deal. Here's the plan for the rest of the month:
Aug. 19: 30 percent off school and work uniforms
Aug. 26: 30 percent off men and women's laundered shirts
No coupon is necessary. The deals are available at all locations (Heritage in Wake Forest, Forestville Crossing in Raleigh and Plantation Point in Raleigh).
