Wow, here's a great offer from 1-800-FLOWERS.com.
Sign up for the company's Fresh Rewards online club. Then set up 10 event reminders, like birthdays, anniversaries and such. For each reminder, you get 40 Fresh Rewards points, with a maximum of 400. BUT when you reach 400 points, you get e-mailed a $40 certificate for use on the site!
I'm told it takes a few days to get the certificate, so it's not instantaneous. And I am sure that you will receive e-mails around the dates of your alerts, so be sure to use an e-mail address you don't mind using. The offer is good through the end of the month.
For those of you who are trying to eat healthy, here's a cool promotion from Earth Fare.
Go to www.earthfare.com and click on My Health Journey. Register and then you will be presented with a coupon for a FREE pantry makover. What does that mean? You can bring an item from your pantry that contains something unhealthy like high fructose corn syrup and trade it in for the Earth Fare healthy version -- for FREE!
That's a great deal and a cool promotion!
If you've been thinking about trading in your old traditional holiday lights for a more energy-efficient model, here are two ways to make the transition cost less.
From Nov. 5 to Nov. 15, Home Depot will offer customers a $3 credit toward the purchase of LED lights for each string of old incandescent lights they bring in. Limit 5 per customer. Here's the link with all the details.
Or, there's a company called HolidayLEDs.com that is offering a 15 percent off coupon for anyone who sends in their old lights for recycling. Anyone in the U.S. or Canada can submit for the coupon and there is no minimum submission required. However, HolidayLEDs.com is asking participants to try and find a local recycling solution first or at least consolidate shipments with friends, neighbors, church groups, co-workers or other groups in an effort to maximize the environmental benefit of the program.
You can find details on that program on the HolidayLEDs.com Web site here.
Today and tomorrow, World Market is offering a free movie ticket with a $10 purchase.
The Web site says it's the first 25,000 people, and since the promotion involves Fandango, I'm guessing there will be some sort of online form required. But hey, that's a great deal considering the price of a movie ticket nowadays!
If you took some photos of your kids this weekend, here's a good one from Walgreens.
Through Nov. 7 you can get unlimited 10-cent 4x6 prints by using the code TENEACH when you check out.
I suspect there may be other good photo processing deals this week. Anyone got a good one?
Be on the lookout for cheap Halloween candy (if you didn't get enough yesterday, that is).
Most retailers will start their clearance at 50 percent off and work their way up from there. Of course you have to do that delicate balancing act of waiting until the discount is high but the candy you want is still in stock. If you're shopping Target, remember that there are some printable coupons on the Target Web site that could help you score a bigger discount.
This is a little outside of my normal coverage area, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
The Granville County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is having a customer appreciation sale in November in which all prices will be slashed by 25 percent (there are a few exceptions...). The sale runs Nov. 3 through Nov. 24. If you are unfamiliar, ReStores are stores where used and surplus building materials are sold at discounted prices to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
The store is at 604 West Industry Drive (also known as the Oxford Loop) in Oxford, across the street the Ideal Fastener. The ReStore is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The folks at CouponShack.com are at it again.
They've issued a list of tips to help shoppers save on Thanksgiving travel and expenses.
The list is full of good ideas, including this one:
If you are going to have a turkey for Christmas too, go ahead and get it during the Thanksgiving holidays and freeze it. Turkeys are cheaper during Thanksgiving than Christmas.

Bed Bath & Beyond has started its fall Internet clearance sale.
Discounts run up to 75 percent off.
(And don't forget to go through Upromise to get 2 percent of your puchase back. Not familiar, read my Upromise primer)
If you're a fan of Banana Nut Cheerios, there's a really good matchup this week at Food Lion.
The cereal is buy one get one, and there's a $1 printable coupon HERE. You should be able to print it twice (if you've never printed coupons before you will have to install software). Combined with the sale, that should make the cereal roughly $1 a box.
