Tonight:Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. starts pavement repair work at the I-40 interchanges -- on the EASTBOUND side only. US 15-501 (Exit 270, west Durham and Chapel Hill) is the first to get this treatment.
This weekend, 8pm Friday night 7/13 until 6am Monday 7/16: Weather permitting, a marathon weekend of day-and-night, round-the-clock repair work and WESTBOUND lane closings is planned between N.C. 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill) and U.S. 15-501 (west Durham).

Tonight: Rain has forced DOT to cancel I-40 repair plans tonight. DOT had announced at 4:58pm that work would proceed. The cancellation came 15 minutes later.
I-40 gets tricky this week. More westbound work tonight and again this weekend. But for three nights this week, Lane Construction Corp. will be closing interchanges to eastbound travelers for work on the on-off ramps.
Tonight: Lane Construction Corp. continues repairing I-40 pavement in the westbound lanes between NC 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill) and US 15-501 (Exit 270, Chapel Hill and west Durham), weather permitting.
Friday and Saturday: All lanes are open, both directions. Lane Construction Corp. has canceled plans for a weekend of round-the-clock work on I-40 in southern Durham County.
