This weekend, Friday through Monday night: Pavement repair work is suspended on I-40 in Durham County, for the Labor Day holiday. All lanes are open, all weekend.

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. and NCDOT close two of three lanes on EASTBOUND I-40 from Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint) to NC 147 Durham Freeway (Exit 279) between 8pm and 6 am.

EASTBOUND traffic will be reduced to a single lane between U.S. 15-501 (Exit 270, Chapel Hill) and N.C. 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill), from 8pm to 6am. Two-mile delays are likely.

Tonight: No repairs or lane closings planned on I-40 in Durham County.  Lane Construction Corp. has finished removing bad concrete from the two outer lanes in both directions between the NC 147 Durham Freeway in RTP and US 15-501 and the Orange County line.

Tonight through Sunday 8/26: Yippeee! No lane closings, no travel delays are scheduled on I-40 in Durham County.

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. repairs pavement at on-off ramps from WESTBOUND I-40 at NC 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill), with the westbound interchange closed from 8pm to 6am.

 

Friday and Saturday nights, 8/17-18: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. repairs pavement on WESTBOUND I-40 from NC 55 (Exit 278, RTP) to Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint), with I-40 reduced to one lane from 8pm to 8am.

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. repairs pavement on WESTBOUND I-40 and the intercange at N.C. 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill). Two right lanes and the WESTBOUND on- and off- ramps are CLOSED from 8pm to 6am.

- Tonight, Wednesday 8/15: Two right lanes and on- and off- ramps closed on WESTBOUND I-40 at N.C. 751 (Exit 274, Southpoint and south Durham) from 8pm to 6am.
