Mon 9/17: Westbound I-40 slow, ramps closed tonight at NC 147 Durham Freeway

Tonight: Weather permitting, pavement repair work will reduce WESTBOUND I-40 to one lane from NC 147 Durham Freeway (Exit 279, downtown Durham) to Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint).

The on-off ramps for westbound I-40 will be closedat NC 147 Durham Freeway. Two-mile backups are expected during tonight's work from 8pm to 6am. EASTBOUND travel is not affected tonight.

Fri-Sun 9/14-16: No I-40 delays Fri & Sat; westbound lanes closed Sun night at Durham Freeway

Saturday night: No paving work planned. All lanes open.

Sunday night: Weather permitting, pavement repair work will reduce WESTBOUND I-40 to one lane from NC 147 Durham Freeway (Exit 279, downtown Durham) to Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint). Two-mile backups are expected during Sunday night's work from 8pm to 6am. EASTBOUND travel is not affected tonight.

Wed 9/12: Eastbound I-40 slow starting at Fayetteville Road; NC 55 ramps closed

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. will reduce EASTBOUND I-40 to a single lane from Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint) to NC 55 (Exit 278, RTP and south Durham). EASTBOUND on-off ramps will be closed overnight at NC 55.

Tues 9/11: Eastbound I-40 slow tonight starting at NC 751; ramps closed at Fayetteville Road

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. will reduce EASTBOUND I-40 to a single lane between NC 751 (Exit 274, south Durham and Southpoint) and Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint). The on-off ramps at Fayetteville Road also will be closed, with traffic detoured to other exits.

Mon 9/10: Eastbound I-40 slow tonight, some on and off ramps closed, at NC 54 and NC 751

Tonight: Watch for 2-mile nighttime backups on EASTBOUND I-40 from NC 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill) to Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint). Lane Construction Corp. will close two of the three EASTBOUND I-40 lanes for paving repair work from 8pm to 6am.

The NC 54 on-ramp to I-40 will be closed and traffic detoured. Later tonight, the on and off ramps at NC 751 (Exit 274, Southpoint and south Durham) will be closed too.

Fri 9/7-Sun 9/9: I-40 backed up westbound Fri & Sat nights; eastbound @ NC54 Sun night
