Synopsis | The son of a Marine and a switchboard operator, Carter grew up in Greensboro. A political newcomer, he's never run for office or worked on a campaign. He works as the general manager of Williams Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning in Greensboro. In 2007, he announced he would seek the Democratic nomination to run against U.S. Rep. Howard Coble in the Sixth Congressional District. He intends to campaign against illegal immigration, the Iraq war and free-trade agreements. He faces Teresa Sue Bratton and Jay Ovittore in the Republican primary. |
