Under the Dome

ALE chief's longtime partner also bailing out

Dome reported yesterday that John Ledford, director of the state Alcohol Law Enforcement, has voluntarily demoted himself to field agent and will return to his home district in Asheville effective Tuesday.

Turns out his longtime associate at ALE, deputy director Richard Alan Page, has also asked for and received a demotion and reassignment to Asheville as the agent in charge of that district.

Both men are bailing out as the McCrory administration puts its own people in charge of various state departments.

Ledford’s salary will drop from $110,667 to $65,887. Page’s will go from $96,581 to $85,000.

The taxpayers need to know about this...good job N & O

Their arrogance and audacity are beyond belief. They did what they wanted under Bev....Hopefully Gov. elect McCrory will send them packing.

Stay on it.

Hopefully all media outlets will continue to follow this excellent example of what's wrong with the NC government's good ole boy network.
Both of these clowns need to be fired, not forced to retire, fired as soon as possible.

Not the only one

These two are not the only ones. Randy Lee is currently the Deputy Director Of The Department of Corrections. He has demoted himself to Superintendent at Caledonia effective January 2 to avoid McCrory's ax.

Not the only ones to look at

I hope that Pat McCrory will also look at those left in ALE. Those remaining in the main office are as guilty of mistreating people as the two that are bailing out. They are just as arrogant as Page and Ledford and either by omission or commission have upheld their bad acts.

Hopefully the old adage that a new broom sweeps clean will be true in this case.

Arrogance

This is the epitome of arrogance, but Ledford and Page have been allowed to do anything they wanted for the past three years. Rudy Rudisill and Reuben Young have looked the other way, allowing these two to destroy an agency, harass those they did not like and promote their cronies. I guess Larry Leake just has too much power.
