Under the Dome

Three top prison officials leaving

There are some high-level departures among state prison officials.

Jennie Lancaster, chief deputy secretary of the Division of Adult Correction, will retire effective Jan. 1. Deputy Director of Adult Correction James French retired Nov. 1.

Bob Lewis, section chief for prisons, will retire on Jan. 1.

No word on whether the retirements intentionally coincide with the change in administrations. But that kind of thing tends to happen when a new governor from a different party takes over.

Don't stop now!

Firing the prison supt. and now these executrices probably is a good start, but just a start.

The incidents at the prison were EXTREME and I would guess widely known throughout the system. That would suggest there are similar abuses that have not yet been uncovered.

They need new management that will run the prisons openly and professionally, and the first step in that direction will be to fire, (not shuffle around) those who will refuse direction. I am guessing there will be many.
