Pat McCrory's schedule in his first days as governor-elect are becoming more clear.
McCrory will travel to Raleigh on Wednesday night ahead of a full day of meetings scheduled Thursday in the capital city. McCrory will meet at 11:30 a.m. with Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue, who beat him in the 2008 election.
Later in the day, at 1:30 p.m., he is expected to hold a press conference in which he will announce the leader of his transition effort and other key team members. McCrory's associates began planning for his victory before Election Day and are looking to move quickly, as McCrory pledged to do in his victory speech.
Key members of the team include John Lassiter, a former Charlotte city council member and close McCrory friend, and Ed McMahan, a former state lawmaker from Charlotte.
