Haslam continues the GOP parade of governors

The parade of Republican governors into North Carolina this political season continues Wednesday when Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam stumps in Western North Carolina.

Haslam is scheduled today to speak at the Asheville Victory Office, hold a round table discussion at the Apple Wedge Packers and Growers in Hendersonville, before dropping off aat the Sylva GOP Victory office.

He is at at least the sixth Republican governor to campaign in North Carolina. Others are New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie(twice), South Carolina Gov. Niki Haley, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry. And that doesn't count former governors such as Florida's Jeb Bush(twice), Minnesota's Tim Pawlenty(twice) or of course Massachusetts' Mitt Romney(twice.)

As for the Democrats, we've had Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and former Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

It also does not include governors who attended meetings of the Democratic or Republican Governors Associations in Charlotte.
