SEANC plans more Coleman advertising

Update: Pricetag for this round of pro-Coleman ads: $130,000.

The State Employees Association of North Carolina is following through on its pledge to help elect Democratic candidate Linda Coleman to the office of lieutenant governor. Today it announced it’s launching a major offense of TV ads.

“This ad campaign is only the tip of the iceberg,” SEANC Executive Director Dana Cope said in a news release about the ad buy. “We’re going ‘all in’ for Linda Coleman in this election.”

What’s described as an initial purchase, ads will soon begin airing on cable and broadcast networks in Raleigh, Greensboro and the eastern part of the state. Another wave of ads is planned before the May 8 primary election.

The association represents 55,000 members. Coleman is running against state Sen. Eric Mansfield of Fayetteville in the Democratic primary.

Not too politically astute....

...if one thinks that SEANC is part of the Democratic arm anymore.  They have royally pissed off plenty of Democrats with their endorsements of Republicans in other races this year and in the past.

Plus, there is not prohibition for state employees belonging to a union.

governor

I dont think seanc has formally endorsed a candidate for governor yet. I'm sure they will make a endorsement after the democrat primary is complete. The promises will be made and the endorsement will come. However as a state employee with many years of watching these promises being made and usually not kept. It is plain to see that seanc is only a arm of the state democrat party, and a tool to move the agenda forward. If seanc really wished to help state employees, they would stay out of the politics side of raleigh and let the good people of this state choose the leaders. This makes the state employees seem like a part of this nasty business, and in all honesty they are not any part of it. All these decisions are make by seanc officials and party leadership. I would never belong to seanc and the vast majority of state employees don't belong to seanc. Seanc has 55,000 members and I think there are about 300,000 plus state employees...do the math and dont speak for me. In state employees handbooks they are forbidden from any type union activities by penalty of termination, but they still allow seanc....It is because it is part of the democrat machine in raleigh....political corruption at its worst.

SEANC

Your are so right mountainman.....how many democrat years have we been saying this.  Waste of good money!

For Governor?

Who has the SEANC endorsed for Governor?

I mean, if you can pick a Lt. Gov. you certainly should be able to annoint the next Governor.

The committee must have run out of coffee before they could coronate the next Governor.

seanc

This is the very reason...as a state employee I have never been a member of seanc. They have no business in politics. Trying to elect the candidate that makes the most promises.

This is the best reason I

This is the best reason I can think of to vote AGAINST Coleman, other than the incompetent way she ran the Office of State Personnel.
