There will be no more nighttime and weekend lane closings for the I-40 repair job in Durham County, NCDOT engineer Eben Miller says. This should be the last online and email I-40 Worrier update.

Tues 10/9: Westbound I-40 slow tonight from NC 54 to US 15-501

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. will reduce WESTBOUND I-40 to one lane from NC 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill) to US 15-501 (Exit 270, Chapel Hill and west Durham) from 8pm to 6am. EASTBOUND travel is not affected.

Mon 10/8: Westbound I-40 slow tonight, Fayetteville Road to NC 54

Tonight: Weather permitting, Lane Construction Corp. will reduce WESTBOUND I-40 to one lane from Fayetteville Road (Exit 276, Streets at Southpoint) to NC 54 (Exit 273, Chapel Hill) from 8pm to 6am. EASTBOUND travel is not affected. Backups of up to two miles are possible.

About the Roadwork
 A DOT contractor is repairing pavement on I-40 in Durham County between US 15-501 (Exit 270) and NC 147 (Exit 279), working most nights and some weekends between April 2007 and May 2008. Traffic is reduced to one lane, and alternate routes are recommended.
