Basnight must have bought a factory that makes paper bags. He has some kind of personal gain in this, and its not a litter issue. He is a crook plain and simple. To find the solution the current budget mess you have to look no further than basnight and the rest of his sticky fingered buddies in raleigh.

Hmmmmmmm...this one is a real puzzler.

At face value this is believable but when you read further on and find out that this is a Marc Basnight initiative you have to wonder......... when is the other shoe gonna drop.

This is ridiculous. It seems to me that most Americans simply want to government out of their lives. Ridding ourselves of plastic bags will only cause prices to go up at the grocery store. If another bag was more economically efficient, stores would already be using them.

Marc Basnight has run this state entirely too long and needs to be sent back to his own district where won't be able to control our lives so much.

I try to delete as few comments as possible. A surefire way to get deleted is to use a swear word or imply that someone is a criminal. It's a tricky area, having to do with the vagaries of libel law, but there you are.

Granted I did not make that comment he deleted. But I could infer that the democratic party has been and could be a corrupt institution a insinuation of illegal behavior?

You know like the comments that a Democratic operative made about Black that turned out to be true. Would you have deleted them also?

I am just curious about your rules?

I have read that North Carolina was previously ranked 49th of 50 states when it came to the percentage of coverage it provided for its workers+dependents. Would this change make us 50th?

If so, doesn't that deserve a frontpage story?

That Senator Rand wants to cut benefits to a plan where we are already 49th out of 50 states?

It's sad that he's the representative from my part of NC (Onslow County).
