Lanny Wilson for NC Senate!!!

The big dogs will love him cause he'll do what they ask; maybe even fly them on his plane. He's got so much money he won't have to depend on national LGBT groups like Julia did. Maybe he'll take a little cash from Titan Cement/Mercury Plant, just to make sure they don't have to undergo some irksome environmental review like every other company without millions to spend on brib.er..., I mean, lobbying. Or maybe he can plan a few highways right near some big donor's land and then give them a sweetheart deal. Maybe Blue Cross can give him a donation, or even McGuire Woods! He's a shoo-in.

Quick, where can I get my bumper sticker!!!

Don't know where they will get $500 million? But they do know that they will add 700 more TAX PAYERS to the unemployment rolls (assuming they are really FIRING 700 TAX PAYERS and not just leaving empty positions unfilled) and reduce state services currently provided to the public. So how much will the unemployment for the up to 700 TAX PAYERS cost? Should we add that number to the mysterious $500 million? Attention Legislatures: Some of you know what you are doing, but this piece of legislation shows that along party lines most of you haven't the slightest clue.

"If we do not get some control over the length of time we spend here," said Rand, a Fayetteville Democrat and Senate majority leader, "we do damage to the institution of the legislature."

How about term limits also, I believe that a large part of the problem is that people like Rand get in office and stay way too long and do great damage to the "institution of the legislature."

Re: Senate backs up on bullying

True Christians are not homophobes, and do not support bullying. Homosexuals/Bisexuals/Transgenders, even polygamists, must be treated the same as others according to Christian beliefs. There are a lot of sins, just look at the 10 commandments to see that nobody's perfect. However, Christians strive for righteousness because they have been changed. Anyone living an alternative lifestyle has obviously not been changed and therefore are not saved in God's eyes. Consider this: how would this affect witnessing? If Christians can't witness to others by stating that their lifestyle is a sin, then how can the Holy Spirit use them to convict the sinner? Instead, it will be called hate speech, and the right to witness will be taken away. And don't start about keeping religion out of school. That's the whole problem in the first place!

Why are so many Christians sitting back and letting right wing homophobic groups such as N.C. Family Policy Council and the Christian Action League speak for them? Or, are all Christians homophobes? How can anyone support bullying? How Christian is that?

I had hoped for better but sadly am not surprised. What kid of Christians would object to a bill protecting the 'least of these'? What Bible do they read that states it is OK for gays to be abused? It is hard for me to think that Jesus would give these people the time of day. People have been figurately, and sometimes literally, abused to death. Our state deserves better, and or kids do as well.

Higher office? U.S. Senate and lieutenant governor are nice, but surely there is no higher office than serving in the General Assembly. Except maybe being a political cartoonist.

Senator John Kerr has done a great job representing the people of district 5, but it's time for change. Its time for somebody to bring new ideas to Raleigh. Thats why I'm endorsing Mayor Don Davis of Snow Hill for District 5 Senator.

Also, whatever party Moore was in on November 19 is the party he is running in. You can't switch parties and run inside 90 days of the filing period.
