Tarheel, if you want to form your political decisions without consideration of your religious beliefs, that is well and fine. However, many (perhaps most) North Carolinians do weigh their Christian (and other religious) values when determining their policy preferences. This is true across the political spectrum. My concern for the environment is based partially on my love for all God's creation. Some folks are passionately anti-abortion because they believe that an embryo already has a soul.

Gosh no, just debate the issues and leave the faith discussion out of it. I don't think God has a party or a position on how the Senate Finance Committee marks up its bill.

The attack is on the left, and even from the left. I will not give quarter to "God's Party" while we mark up the bill in finance.

It matters.

This "group" of Christians YOU attacked for taking action is right.

The decision to support or oppose health care reform should be based on quality of life factors, likely improvement in health care, and reduced costs. It is a valid argument that our nation should make quality health care a basic right for its citizens and the distribution of health care is a reasonable indicator of our country’s prosperity. But do we really want or need faith based groups to argue that religion is the foundation for having such a system? I think we are capable of making the decision with science, acumen for good business and government, and economic factors. Interpreting Biblical passages does not add to the dialogue in a meaningful way. I disagree with this approach regardless of its use by the left or the right.

There's no "equal opportunity" in the New Testament. It's all stacked against the rich man, and I for one wealthy Christian am sick of it!

Why should the poor and meek people inherit everything?

Word. Did Jesus heal people for free or send them to the Roman HMO for profit. Hello?

Thank goodness this isn't a Christain nation or BC/BS and the Republicans would be screwed.

These groups sound more interested in championing special interests politics than doing God's work. What do these commercials have to do with faith?
