Pelosi is a devout Catholic? Really? Heath must have missed where she got in the p-ing match earlier this year with the Catholic Bishops over her - uh.. interpretation of the Bible and the Churches stance on abortion.

I'm also thinking that her stating that the Healthcare "Reform" legislation that she rammed through Saturday breaking all her promises to have it be posted for at least 72 hours before a vote was "fair" in that it punishes citizens with fines and/or jail time for not purchasing an "appropriate" level of insurance.

Gee Nancy, you must interpret the Constitution the same way you interpret that Bible.

This is why I don't like politics anymore. There was a time when party didn't matter as much, a person could talk nicely about their opponents, even be friends with them, like Reagan and O'Neal or Kennedy, but I guess those days are over. All either side wants to do now is tear the other apart however they can. Where's the third and fourth party when you need them?

Re: Kissell gets the 'Biden treatment'

LET THE GENERALS FIGHT THE WAR
Why I say - Pull the troops out of Afghanistan, now!
By Tim D’Annunzio for Congress 8th District NC
timvote.com

I have a copy of the McChrystal report, and it clearly lays out the changes needed for victory in Afghanistan. The Obama administration is vacillating on this war, while trying to calculate what impact it will have on their domestic socialization agenda. Secretary Gates refuses to stand against the political pressures and the Republican leadership seems willing to let the current administration flounder at home and abroad.

The truth is that Obama used Afghanistan as a straw-man argument during the election. He wanted to appear strong on national defense and only opposed the “unjustified” war in Iraq.

We have seen how quickly Obama shifted policies on Iraq. After taking office he quickly changed strategy on a defined timetable for withdrawal. Of course nothing had changed on the ground, his shift in position came after he began to deal in reality and not in political posturing.

I would assert that his new Iraq strategy came at a time when his approval ratings were high and he thought his charisma would overcome any negative repercussions he might face in reversing his previously stated position.

Now his Afghan straw-man has come to life and the charisma bank is almost insolvent. He needs his remaining resources of good-will to finish his domestic agenda of destroying the current US system. His priority has always been destroying this country and replacing it with a long desired leftist-socialist-utopia.

If he agrees to more troops in Afghanistan – as is needed – the US will achieve victory, but he will offend his base, which wants the US to lose. If he refuses the troop increase, he won’t offend his base, he keeps the support for his domestic agenda, but he will further stir up the opposition.

The longer we do nothing in Afghanistan, the more dangerous it becomes for the troops. I say Obama’s inability to make the hard decision is reason enough to pull the plug. If he can’t do the right thing and let the generals make war, we should call for an immediate withdrawal.

The politically safe thing for Obama is to leave the troops in place and do nothing. The politically safe thing for the Republican leadership to do is nothing except call for Obama to implement General McChrystal’s plan. Both of these have their priorities wrong because they use our soldiers in the field as political pawns and subordinate them to political agendas.

I say give the Commanders in the field everything they ask for and thereby enabling them to achieve victory. If the Obama Administration refuses, I would call for an immediate withdrawal of all troops; and I don’t care about the politics of it.

My conclusion is that the Obama administration and my Congressional opponent, Larry Kissell are using our troops as political pawns and refuse to make the hard, but right, decision. This is why I say, “Pull the troops out of Afghanistan, now!”

From the Raleigh News & Observer a quote from Kissell when asked for his position.
http://projects.newsobserver.com/under_the_dome/kissell_gets_the_biden_treatment

“"I don't want to be prejudging, or presuming anything," said Kissell, a member of the House Armed Services committee whose district includes part of Fort Bragg.”

This piece also says that Biden and therefore the Obama Administration have decided to help Kissell in his battle against me.

Give the generals what they need to achieve victory. If not, pull the troops out now. This isn’t and shouldn’t be about politics or political battles.

James tries to stick what Rush Limbaugh says onto me. Okay that is fairly done. How about I stick Bill Ayers and that left wing nut Churchill onto James. Please James defend those two terrorists. They were speaking at the University of Colorado today.

Limbaugh said he wanted Obama's socialist policies to fail. So please James have the integrity to use his full sentance not the snippets you liberals like to do. Have a little honesty. Now all you have to do is defend Ayers and Churchill and their I do not regret trying to bomb the US capital and a NY police station, ect. ect..

You belong on a perpetual first date with the girl that ordered the Nacho Mountain.

The return key is not an option. It's a transition point between related, but different thoughts.

Sarcasm I now see to be, in general, the language of the devil; for which reason I have long since as good as renounced it.

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

James wrote:

"I was sworn in as an officer in the US Navy when you were two years old, Paul. Have you ever taken a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America? I have, and I still live by that oath. Have you ever put your life on the line for this country? I have done that too."

I think the Dome should take this statement and post it over an American Flag…….with the flag waving in the breeze. Post these words by James and have them narrated by James Earl Jones. I’ll bet there would not be a dry eye in the house. I'm crying my eyes out as I try to type. Glory be!

I’m not too sure but these words seem vaguely familiar. Did Jessie Helms use these same words when campaigning? I have heard of wrapping yourself in the flag but in this instance I worry about choking or strangling. Dome should remind children of the dangers of such practices. Wrapping yourself this far into a flag could be dangerous.

Could we add these words to the Preamble? To the Bill of Rights? The Halifax Resolves? These words could be the new mission statement for the N & O.

After reading this impassioned plea I am beginning to think that James has finally seen the light and is joining us right wing nut jobs. Welcome home, brother! You wandered a long time but the road home was always there for you.....see you over at the Carolina Journal. LOL

Every now and then I slip into the delusion that it's worth trying to have a serious conversation with even the most extreme of conservatives. You'd think I'd know better by now.

I searched online for your bio and found no mention of your time in the military. Which is why I framed my comments as questions. Thank you for your service.

I don't believe Bush's decision was flippant. I believe it was a cold and calculated choice to fight a war that was neither necessary nor wise. The world would be a lot better off if many of the people currently in power were gone. In China. In Russia. In Iran. In Pakistan. In Venezuela. In North Korea. But that doesn't mean our president should lie about the risks they pose to justify attacking them in preemptive war, in Bush's case, a war that has already cost more than a trillion dollars.

I'll have nothing more to say to you. Good day.
