can we OUTLAW the 2 dominant oppressive parties, democrackkk and republicannots and require ALL candidates they MUST RUN as UNaffiliated?
Shutting these UNnecessary 'parties' down will help restore freedom back to our state.

The Republicans definitely do not need to fence anyone out. However, they might consider building some fences to keep some in. Parts of the Berlin Wall are on sale at eBay. These days it is all about broadening your base and being less base.

Independent voters and disgruntled conservatives don't need to kowtow to the Republican Party bosses. Nor do disaffected liberals and progressive have to acquiesce to the Democratic Party's abandoning of their interests.

There is a political party that can represent their views -- the Libertarian Party. Libertarians have no interest in limiting or restricting anyone's right to vote for the person of their choice, regardless of party affiliation. In fact, we don't think the State has any right to say who can form a political party, or dictate how they operate.

Paul Stam and Linda Daves clearly had it out for him. Fetzer has yet to weigh in. Just because Fetzer isn't playing for the same team doesn't mean drunk old men hugging teenage girls isn't inappropriate family values behavior.

I just wish this crazy old nut were a Democrat so I could hear more about this case from the N&O (and possibly an interview with his wife), but alas, he nor his party don't matter and thus have done nothing wrong.

Only Democrats get investigated, yet all Allred's go to Heaven.

Allred is a joke, the people of Alamance county are glad to get rid of him. I hear that he has been making deputies in his home county misserable for years. I have heard many of them talk about stopping this jerk and then letting him go. I feel sorry for the trooper who stopped him, I bet that trooper knew that if he had given Allred a ticket, supervisors from Raleigh wouldve chewed his rear for not letting him go. so he was in a no win situation. come on people this would be like catching your boss taking too long on a coffee break and then trying to bust him for it. Yeah you win the battle but lose the war.

Hmmmm. So Allred's problem is that he "got told on." Well, I've never been a huge Stam fan, but I sure want to thank him for helping to get this nut and his alcohol problem off the road.

It's helpful that Allred can't shut up, because the attitude he displays is one widely held (if not so flagrantly demonstrated) by members in both House and Senate, both Republican and Democrat -- and constituents deserve to see that.

The culture of entitlement that men like Allred have for bending the law and dismissing the rules others have to play by (no pawing the pages)is apparently well understood around Raleigh and is apparently well tolerated.

It seems that nothing short of another scandal the size of Jim Black's seems interesting enough to trigger efforts from within the parties to effect meaningful change. Hackney has made inroads with ethics reform, but it's slow going and constrained by the pace of the legislative process, which is further dragged out by the likely disinclination of key players in both houses, from both parties.

One wonders what it will take to create a new climate of genuine intolerance for the "good ole boys and girls" who keep the same old games going year after year.

Everybody shrugs.

It is not my problem because the Democrats control all parts of our federal government atleast until the 2010 elections. But you are right in that Bush W. dropped the ball on immigration. He did have a little help from both parties in that effort.

Making illegals legal will cost us the house because with the small amount of money they will earn they will in turn qualify for and take all of those tax credits you guys have put in place. Plus all of the human and drug smugglers have shown how porous our borders really are.

Please stop blaming the past and do something about it now. Remembering history is important so you do not repeat it. But constantly harping on it blinds you to the present.

I have no problem with that Paul. It'd be a nice sting. We could get rid of the smart ones that want to better themselves, but you could still keep your gardener that knows his place.

No, seriously, you made that too easy. I have no problem with enforcing the law. What I will say is this isn't one of those Dem/Rep things. This never would have been a problem without Reagen, Bush, Clinton and Bush... all Republicans, at least Internationally, which is where ILLEGALS come from.

Will ICE or INS be conducting raids on the college campuses like they do at pig, chicken and turkey slaughtering plants?? If not, why not? Will those in charge be fined as would owners of the slaughtering plant? Guess they are not too worried considering how ICE doesn't raid that often.
