Are you kidding me? Where the hell (pardon my French) in NC do they still practice/condone corporal punishment??? What backwards school system still allows this? Do they still distribute little chalk boards to the chillun' and have them take turns fueling the woodstove in the one-room schoolhouse??

I was born (proudly, I think) in NC, but did most of my schooling in VA. So maybe I missed something. But the fact that in the 21st Century this is even an issue...amazing. Simply amazing.

Just like a politician to think that it's the government's business to deal with anything she doesn't like. Just because a representative is discomfited on a plane doesn't mean it takes an act of Congress to prevent future encounters with boors. I have to admit, however, I love the direct allusion made to smoking.

You watch; she'll complain about intrusive government from the Obama administration, but she's part of the problem here.
