Regardless of it being a snub or a flub, it speaks volumes about the Governor's behavior when she thinks people are not looking and it demonstrates sheer RUDENESS and a lack of MANNERS on the part of the governor. Superintendent Atkinson has demonstrated nothing but respect to the governor and restraint in the wake of the governor's blatant disrespect of Ms Atkinson and her elected position.

First, Atkinson couldn't take office because there was a lawsuit over the vote tally brought by her opponent, a man. Now she gets the shaft by the men's woman, our current governor. Yes, that's what happens with women. They slight other women when they themselves get in power because it's what their men want. In Ohio the newspaper at least reported the governor was looking to do the same thing with the elected State Superintendent, a woman, But he used the poor state of test scores to appoint his man. The long time female State Superintendent resigned. I wouldn't have been clapping for Perdue. Hillary Clinton dissed anybody who got in her way. Perdue suddenly appoints this man over Atkinson and not a peep from the electorate. Things like this happen all the time, like how they suddenly double property taxes, put toll roads in the future, a tax on vehicle odometers on top of the gas tax, raise insurance premiums on state workers if they're fat so they can get a huge increase in premiums since most are overweight, and withhold retirement contributions all the time when they say they're short on cash, which is all the time. The people have nothing to say about anything. We may vote, but they do what they want.

Naw! The Govenor thought Atkinson was the cleaning lady who cleans up after the speech!

It is typical of women. What else explains it. Silly, silly, silly women. That is the way they treat each other in real life and in politics. I would not expect anything more from women.

For North Carolina, Education is the Priority -

Ok Bev, If education is the priority why are you taking money from the "Education Lottery" to balance the budget. In office only two months and already raping the Education Lottery to balance the budget. Here's an idea - cut your own pay and the pay of those that support your poor decision to steal from our children's educations.

Health care and good, stable jobs with good pay, benefits, and futures are not luxuries or privileges, but fundamental human rights. Government has not only the duty to protect such rights, but to actively provide for their realization by positive action and, if need be, steeply progressive taxation.

What did she mean when she targeted talk radio shows in NC? Talkshow posturing ? HUH???

What about the PEOPLE's Tax Refunds? with interest?

Bring Bev by the WWNC radio station in Asheville tomorrow for some
WNC questions...how do you explain your vote on the lootery?, for instance...WNC voters need questions answered for ALL the people of NC!

let’s wish Bev luck and hope that she has 'The Right Stuff' to balance the budget by increasing taxes on some of the things that increases the risk of premature aging/medical problems among the population of NC: namely beer/wine, ciggys and junk/convenience food!

I must say it's encouraging to hear a politician speaking metaphorically of a table set with something other than tax increases.

But let's see if the presentation matches the menu; after all, government restaurants aren't sure things.
