My. This is awkward. For Trippi.

The real netroots already support Cal Cunningham from what I can tell.

And he doesn't have to "hire" anyone to make an introduction.

Lewis should have saved that money and talked to real bloggers, then made a free account on ActBlue. I'm starting to wonder who's funding this fantasy?

How can it be a "round table discussion" when only the rnc chair shows up and you can't find a republican that is not in jail or on trial for a morals charge??

If the Republican chair wants to come away from this North Carolina meeting with a grade of "A" then he should sign up for Jack Hawke's short course: "How to Be a Republican in the Triangle."

I guess that's what happens when none of the states leading (and I use that word with all possible irony) Republicans are willing to go to the convention.

Funny.

If that had been a Republican comment it would be national news...as an independent I'm getting a bit tired of all this...Any chance Dr. Frankenstein could bring back George Washington? He thought political parties were to be avoided at all costs.

Re: Clinton supporters show up at Dean rally

When I first saw Clinton supporters in the Raleigh crowd, I was encouraged, thinking that they had come to support the voter registration effort. Later, I saw their "NO BAMA" signs and realized that they were trying to undermine the Obama unity effort. I was disgusted by it.

I wondered what they would have expected of me, a fervent Obama backer during the primaries. If Hillary were indeed the presumptive nominee, would they not want me to forget the past and work together with them to elect the Democrat in November? Would they really want me attending a DNC registration rally and waving anti-Clinton signs?

I sincerely doubt it.

And then it's on to Colorado!!!!!

Top ten things Howard Dean might have been thinking when he mentioned “Colorado:”

10. If you listen closely you will hear that he said, “The next governor of this state full of collards.”
9. Colorado was originally part of North Carolina when we were one of the original colonies. The state extended west into the wilderness. If you start walking west you will get to California, then Colorado and then China, then the Southport Marina. So Howard’s comments are technically correct, in a manner of speaking, you could take it that way, maybe.
8. The people in Colorado would love to have Bev…… as would any state. She is such a fine lady. But they can’t have her!
7. Sometimes Dr. Dean gets excited and starts yelling. He might not have known exactly what he wanted to say so he blurted out something that sounded like Colorado. Colorado is also the name of a Chevrolet truck so he may have been telling us how to lower fuel consumption.
6. At least he did not call anyone a pansy. Let’s give him his due.
5. He might have been thinking about Obama being in France with Carla Bruni. He may have been trying to say that Carla has some nice “Colorado’s.”
4. He probably had a flashback to his own campaign when he started screaming, “And then it’s on to Colorado..... and then it’s on home.”
3. What is all the fuss about? If Bev is the governor of Colorado or North Carolina she will do a fine job. We could work a deal where their gov and our gov could do a timeshare arrangement. Their gov could spend time here… if their gov is a lady. We have had enough men for a while. Then Bev could go out there sometimes. We could be sister states. It would be fun. And when a tough issue came up the gov could leave their state for the sister state…….rather than Italy. (I checked online and you can get a cheeseburger in Colorado for less than $43.00, with onion rings.)
2. He just got it twisted. He was talking about Bev being the governor and then he remembered about InBev buying out our beer companies. And they make some beer in Colorado or maybe they sell a lot of Silver Bullets out there. I think they use the melted snow to make beer that comes in silver cans. He just got confused. I sometimes get confused myself.

1. I think he was trying to talk Southern style and got confused. Trying to be “one of us.” He was either talking while dipping a mouth full of snuff or trying to talk with a “Dare County accent.” (This may actually be close to the truth.)

Well, hell, we've already got a Senator (Dole) who doesn't live here and doesn't represent us. We might as well have a Governor who does the same. It's all part of the 50 state strategy.

Now Dome cubbies, remember to put on your Mildred the Bear listening ears when you go to cover big political speeches. What Gov. Dean really said was: "We want Bev Perdue as the next governor of the State of Eldorado." In all Candor, this was certainly a reference to Montgomery County and a tip of the hat to former Lt. Gov. Bob Jordan.

When Bob Jordan was lieutenant governor, folks didn't go prattling on about the Great State of Mecklenburg because they were chatting up the Great State of Montgomery, including Eldorado, Troy, Star, Biscoe and all the rest. In fact, loyal fans of "The Andy Griffith Show" sometimes find themselves confusing Biscoe with the first name of Brisco Darling of the mountain bluegrass family.

It was right nice of Howard Dean to take a page right out of the Clerk's Office of Howard Sprague and make sure that Beverly Perdue doesn't forget about Eldorado when she makes her rounds across the state especially when she stops in unannounced to visit Mont-Gomer-y County, and tells everyone:

"Surprise, surprise, surprise."

I was thrilled to see Gov. Dean in person, and the hear his words firsthand. I am disappointed that your paper decides to use this occasion to showcase a handful of protestors rather than featuring the event as witnessed by most of the over 100 people who went to support Sen. Obama and the DNC.
The bus was a nice touch, too.
