Hey Chris, i need your help with a criminal situation in Mooresville, N.C. I was your neighbor in Charlotte and we were friends so i hope you can help me out! My brother Curtis fired a 44 magnum inside the house at 3 am and i took his other guns and locked em in trunk if car so he couldnt fire them and they tried to have me committed but psyche lrt me go if ihad a safe place! A lot of the leadership in the Republican Party got there for their positions on social issues, not for their talent in fiscal policy. This has created a terrible void which may never be repaired. As uncomfortable as I am with abortion, I was able to see the insincerity in the right-wing approach to dealing with it. I believe it was always their plan to never actually work to reduce abortions, but to keep the argument going so they would continue to get votes from it. So they are the ones out there crying the old simplistic mantra "No taxes!" while the good strong fiscal Republicans would be working with the rest of leadership to solve this mess.

A cousin of mine once said that God created the Republican Party to cut taxes.

If tax cuts are truly at the heart of the GOP platform, why have Republicans so spectacularly failed to challenge House Democrats on the $800 million tax increase that is scheduled to pass this evening?

The crisis in leadership within the GOP in the post-Bush era has never been more evident.

Republicans have chosen to hold a convention at a time when a march on the state capital is more appropriate.

The residents of this state cannot afford to wait until 2012 for Republicans to challenge House Democrats and Bev Perdue.

Pat McRory is leading discussions about party procedures and email rules instead of organizing popular opposition to the most inappropriate and ill-considered tax increase in recent memory.

The GOP desperately needs new leadership that puts core principles ahead of petty procedural debates and myopic focus on the next election cycle. Is there no one left in the Republican Party that can remember how to muster a grass-roots protest?

I suppose, who else, right?

I'm confused on why the candidate who led the GOP ticket in losing in 2008 is asked to speak about the future of winning? But then that would include every GOPer who ran...well, that's not absolutely true, what about Troxler and Berry? Get one of the Republicans who actually won to speak first!

On topic, I agree that Burr is the last chance of those that recruited him, namely Rove, Cheney and Bush, to save a dying brand and ideological legacy.

That's if Burr doesn't reinvent himself as a moderate with liberal tendencies along the way, in which doing so he kills the Bush era once and for all better than any Democratic victory ever could.

I'm just not sure the insanity defense to Burr's one-time support of both the bank bailout and CAFTA holds as much water as the average towel in a dark skinned teenager's face does at GITMO.

We'll see how long Burr can hold his breath under pressure from the right.

In 2006, she served as the chairwoman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, presiding over the loss of six seats and the majority. Dole has gone from rising star to rank-and-file senator hanging on for dear life.
