Hey scharrison looks like ANOTHER DEMOCRATIC cabinet nominee by Democratic President Barack Obama has problems not paying taxes.

The DEMOCRATIC Govenor of Kansas Sebilius and her husband owed over $8,000 in taxes and fines.

What were you saying about Republicans again? Grandstanding is not a crime. Not paying your taxes is a crime.

I stand (sit) corrected. There are a lot more names from Durham than Charlotte, it just seemed like there were mostly big numbers from the QC. There's some big numbers from Durham too...

note to the note to the note to the note: Check out Durham. There may be more back taxes in the Durham, than everyone's favorite city to hate Charlotte.

In case anybody's interested, here's the N.C. Department of Revenue's Most Wanted list of those who owe back taxes.

note: it's a really fat pdf file (47 pages).

note to the note: that's not a good thing.

note to the note to the note: check out the Charlotte section. Wow.

scharrison You do make a reasonable point in paragraph 2 but when you have the person being appointed to be in charge of the $$ and he fails to file his own taxes you just have to wonder...

By the way, I am registered democrat and I think both parties are full of losers.

This is exactly the kind of pointless partisan grandstanding that has earned the North Carolina Republican Party its powerless minority position.

Ooh! How about this: we should stop arresting drunk drivers and writing tickets to speeders because all those Senators and Representatives up in D.C. get special treatment by the police! It ain't fair!

"Ground Control to Major Jerry: adjust your oxygen feed. That last transmission indicates a likely hypoxia situation."

So our newest Senator Kay Hagan voted to confirm a tax cheat - in lock step with her Democrat leaders - and isn't this what Senator Dole was criticized for?

She already flip-flopped on voting for more bail out money. Is she also going to vote for this stimulus bill that includes?

More money on sod ($200M) for the mall than for small business tax credits ($50M),
More money for contraceptives – so we have less tax payers in the future funding social security – why are we paying for abortions in foreign countries when we can’t pay our credit card bills here?
Money for ACORN for more democrat voters
$50M for the Endowment for the Arts – more poetry, more crucifixes’s in a cup of urine?
Money to build zoos, casinos, museums, etc.
$350M for STD prevention

We definitely know who she is lock step in line with - and it is not the citizens of NC.

When Carter came to Washington, he brought all of his Georgia friends, when Bush II came to Washington, he brought all of his Texas friends, when Bill Clinton came to Washington, he did not know who to invite until after the election. And what did it get us, quagmire, indecision, bad decisions. Boys you need to step back and let the professionals handle this situation.

I am glad to see a President who knows that when he is a deep dark hole he needs to find a person with the best shovel skills, not one of his best friends from home.

I have been out of work since June of 2007 (a year and a half) and I want to see some serious digging into our problems and get to the light at the end of the tunnel. If that means a convicted felon can get us there faster than anyone else, let’s do it and deal with that problem when we get to daylight. Now is not the time to quibble over employment tax issues. There is a bigger picture here than listening to yourselves rail about how smart you are. Let's solve the problems, get the stock market up, get housing going again, and then place any blame you feel is necessary, when there are plenty of jobs to go around.

Protzman, you are kidding with the statement that Hagan has done more constructive work in week. Please...Please support your comment with FACTS.
She has already flipped flopped on the bailout money. She opposed it during the campaign and now she supports it. She has bailed out on the taxpayers. Hey, I voted for her. However, she already has sold herself to the money that gave to her campaign. Again, please tell me what she has done that you term "constructive".

As hard as it may be for you to believe, I was and remain a vocal opponent of Wush's corruption, and big govt failures. As far as proving it,
1. I don't take orders from liberal campaign dweebs of The Obama.
2. nothing I say would convince you that what I say is true, because I call 'em like I see 'em, and I say your 'The Obama' is as corrupt and criminal as Wush. And for a believer like you, the truth doesn't matter, only that 'our team won"
3. Think about it. If I spent hours dredging up all the negative stuff I've said about Wush or McLaim for that matter, you wouldn't even reply.
4. so just go on believing a power hungry corrupt chicago politician, who's already broken many of his campaign promises -- and keep attacking anyone that dares to question him.

I've run my own businesses for 30 years. I know full well that the government can't do many things as well as the private sector can. Many things. If the past eight years have proven anything, they have proven that. The Bush-led expansion of the military industrial complex is truly a staggering development. Wouldn't you like to have that trillion dollars we flushed in Iraq back right now?

I agree with the package and the need for accountability. I am against the bail-out of banks now, just as I was the first time it happened. That fiasco was an equal-opportunity screw up by both parties and accounts, in part, for my re-registering as an unaffiliated voter.
