Republicans are funny when they try to evolve.

"Marginal tax rates are the lowest they've been in generations, and all we can talk about is tax cuts," he said. "The people's desires have changed, but we're still stuck in our old issue set."

                   -Patrick McHenry in Time Magazine.

Congressman McHenry believes in lowering the tax burden on American workers, families and small business owners.

-Patrick McHenry on his website to constituents.

Anything that comes out of Patrick McHenry's mouth is borderline comical. If you ever meet the guy- you would swear you were speaking with a child. This guy's only claim to fame before his office run was touting himself as a 2-year low level staffer in George Bush's administration. If the citizens of his district who voted for him weren't so gullably drinkers of Dick Cheney kool aid --- Patrick McHenry would be a mediocre real estate agent in Gastonia. If this guy... is the future of the Republican party.... the Dems are in great shape for a long time to come.

A whole new era..........

So you don't pay your income taxes......

And then you look out the window and see these agents drive up. They come and knock on your door.

You're thinking, "Are they here to arrest me?" You open the door and the agent says:

"How'd you like the be the new Secretary of the Treasury? We couldn't find anyone else in the whole country who paid their tax so we have come for you."

It's all about change....pocket change.

Change We Can Believe In!!!!!!!

I was not a big supporter of President Obama but this appointment of Geithner as Treasury Secretary is making a beliver out of me!

I mean.....if paying Federal income taxes is gonna be optional........then sign me up as a liberal Democrat!

I feel just like I have been to a tent revival and I just got the spirit.........and I promise to give more to the church if I don't have to pay Federal income tax.

This is change we can believe in! Heck, in the old days they used to put you in the jailhouse for not paying income tax. I'm already liking this new "New Deal."

Okay, so the conservative coalition opposed two of President Obama's appointees, who were named, and one who wasn't. My take is the people have the opportunity to pick the third. This a chance I can't pass up. So the third unqualified dude I would like to oppose is Julius Genachowski, the President's pick for FCC Chairman. He has been touted for his insider role with the Clinton administration, and also lists on his resume a stint with the Harvard Law Review. And it's even rumored that he can't program his own home DVD. My goodness, people, how could the guy be more tainted? So I oppose him. Also, Bill Richardson, who flamed out before his first booster rocket started. And Hillary Clinton, who, as we know, is married to Bill Clinton. Pick your own if you like.

What's the big deal? Did any thinking person really believe The Obama when he repeatedly chanted 'change'? The number of lobbyists he's hiring keeps growing and his vetting process appears to consist of rolling a set of dice. But really, who's gonna call him on it? the media? Bwahhahhahahhaha!

WHO will Kay Hagan pick for Eastern District US Atty? will she be compelled to return political favor with Ripley Rand or do the right thing and pick the qualified one Mr. Willoughby? Im betting that she wouldnt want the negativity that will prevail if she picks Rand.

Note the absence of discussion of any work or accomplishments. Which, of course, she would have had to fabricate. You are next, Burr. Bush Lapdog doesn't count as work or accomplishment.

I believe its worth noting Sam Currin was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison in 2007, for money laundering and obstruction charges.

How can Obama not win? He has outspent his opponent by something like 8 to 1. McCain represents the party of one of the lowest rated Predisents in history. Obama is the darling of the media, Hollywood and the Kennedys. His VP selection is a 36 year member of the Senate while McCain's VP selection has been destroyed by the press.

I do not see how he can lose.
