All of a sudden it's a stampede to see who can appear to be the most honest most transparent career politician out there. Funny stuff!

After all, a lawyer originally from New York that's been in office as head of the GOP in North Carolina for a decade should know what it takes to weed out loserishisness, goingalongtogetalongerattery as well as talkingtothepresswithnothingnewtosayasshattery, and I apologize in advance for all the German words.

After all, I'm not from here. What's a razor, plus I hear you Yanks invented something called shampoo? What's that all about and can we get some in Eden?

Phil Berger is clearly the best Republican in NC

Not only is he only a few miles from another state, but more than that from a razor and irony is nowhere close to him.

If ONLY Bev Perdue weren't our Governor and the last straight man in the GOP were. Then we'd have something.

I wanted to give Dennis Patterson a good swift kick but I guess I can't. I'll just have to say that there isn't a bigger partisan hack in State Government right now - and that's saying something.

Makes me long for the days of immeasurably less partisan Auditors like Ralph Campbell and Les Merritt.

Users must keep all messages for 24 hours, but do not need to keep "spam" messages for 24 hours. Hopefully, the messages that state employees don't need to keep for 24 hours will be better defined than "spam".

During these uncertain times, the best way that we can do in order to keep our head above water is that to cut spending. And there’s nothing wrong in doing that. This financial crisis is also a way to teach us that we have to control our habit of excessive spending. That we have to be creative enough and become wise in handling our finances to meet ends. But sad to say that, unexpected situations keep on hunting us and giving us a financial burden. Thankfully, acquiring faxless payday loans is very easy. Faxless payday loans are pretty much what they sound like they are – payday loans without any faxing of documents. Some payday lenders will take on this risk, and they are especially beneficial to people that don't have time to get to an actual store. Luckily, a lot of lenders are now with the digital age, and you don't always need to go to a store in order to get the short term loans you need. There are telephone applications, or online applications on company websites, meaning there are online payday loans to consider when looking for faxless payday loans.

Re: Perdue's executive orders-Executive Order 11

Govenor Perdue's Exec Order #11 has several questionable legalities:

1. Part time faculty members (adjunct) at community colleges are contract employees and Exec. Order 11 breaks the contract. I realize that the constitution may grant the authority to do so, but what does that say about the validity of any future contract?
2. The implementation by the Community College State Board treats part time faculty unequally! If someone taught in the Fall of 2008 and did not teach under contract in the Spring of 2009 then they will not give up 1/2% of their pay. If that same party taught in the following semester (Spring 2009) then the college will take out 1/2% of total pay since July 2008.It will be collected out of the May 2009 paycheck. This action is unequal treatment of the same class.
3.Part time contract employees cannot have the benefit of the offerred flexible furlough time unless they return to teach in either the summer or fall semesters of 2009 since it cannot be taken before June 1, 2009 and not later than December 31, 2009. Again, unequal treatment!!
4.Part time, contract faculty are not treated equally to full time state employees except when pay consessions are required.

Why is it OK for the state government to try and correct their horrendously poor fiscal planning on the backs of state employees, including teachers? I guess it is because it is illegal for us to collectively act or bargain on our own behalf. If we are to be responsible for the stupidity of our elected officials, shouldn't that responsibility be shared among all of the electorate? I thought that the US Constitution guaranteed EQUAL PROTECTION. What about an across the board tax increase to fix your mess? Or better yet, let's start with the Governor... sell the mansion and rent her an apartment.
Governor Purdue: Teachers were one of your most vocal and committed sources of election support. Now you are thanking us with a kick in the teeth. WE WILL NOT FORGET THIS!

Look for the typical "whipping boy" state agencies to bear the brunt of all this while the DOT and DHHS continue to flush money down a hole.
