As a DOC employee I continue to see ways to save thousands of dollars at the prison facility that I am employed at. If I make a suggestion to the people in charge a deaf ear is usually the result due to the fact that I am currently in a non supervisory position as to staff. The fact that I was self employed for 30 years and dealt with people of all walks; including many heads of multi-national companies appears only to intiminate most people in charge. Someone please tell me where someone can be reached that will give serious consideration.

WOW! and to think if he wasn't doing anything corrupt......he wouldn't have to be so defensive! this guy is a joke. blame the news, easley.....without it I bet you could have gotten away with alot! Scary to think that this is what is running our government. sure if you don't do something right....it's the news' fault for telling it.

James03, this is such nonsense...Little and McDaniel are dedicated career civil servants -- the very opposite of political "cronies" that you are trying to make them out to be. They are simply being asked mind the store for a couple of weeks until the new cabinet members are named. Give them a break. A transparently uninformed post.

beverly perdue needs to act quickly a replace these cronies of easley....or it will be more of the same type of crap we have endured for the past 8 years......get rid of everything and everyone that was under easley and dont let them back in state government in any shape form or fashion...

As thick as dictionaries and thesaurus are .... they fail to contain words that adequately describe Mike Easley. With the expectations bar for Governor-Elect Dumpling set at the lowest possible level by even her stauncest supporters, all Bev has to do to outshine this galoot is go an entire week without totally embarrassing herself, the state and the human race.

Mary should book Mike to speak at NCSU on the subject of how such a spineless, gutless human managed to earn the enthusiastic support of both the N&O and its Charlotte sister paper for both of his gubernatorial campaigns.

Here we go again.Seems like Pat McCrory's ad about status quo Bev. was right on the mark!With problems in so many state agencies,why would she want to keep the same cast of characters?Health and Human Services has huge problems(poorly trained staff,etc.),and of course DOT(remember the survey that they tried to cover up the results from the media-the people at the top didn't like the findings(poor oversight of costs,poor inspection procedures-meaning contractors getting by with less than top quality work.)Come on Gov. elect,clean house and start over!!! Working to fix a problem? He can't fix a problem that he let go down for years. He has been non-existent to probation until this occurred, allowing Robert Guy and his lack of oversight to a known problem to continue with ineffective and nepotistic-like hiring.
