I also admire Jim Hunt for what he did for education in North Carolina. With that being said, I think the federal government should not play a role in education, and currently plays a very small role in education, and I would like to see it stay that way.

did he contribute to the effort of a 47% FAILURE RATE for math and reading in NC elementary/middle screwls?

While a solid right winger and admirer of Jesse Helms, I do believe that Governor Hunt has done some great things for education that recommend him to any administration in Washington interested in improving education.
