Re: Mayors: We'll spend stimulus wisely

Quick, everyone! Ya gotta spend money to make money! So spend money to ... run to Washington to beg for some of that bailout pot!

Such is the perverse reasoning that federal bailout schemes inspire.

In a manner of speaking, every one of these "stimulus" schemes is "shovel-ready."

Perdue met with members individually and also with the full delegation, minus Rep. Patrick McHenry.

Foxx in meeting?

I saw footage on the local news of Perdue and Virginia Foxx embracing and talking. Leads me to think Foxx was also part of meeting, unless she simply just said hello and did not attend the meeting.

They take our money, and if we complain, we are using in-appropriate language. We should just whimper and take whatever scraps fall from the table.

What about Jerry Meek, the progressive NC Dem party chair who in four years rebuilt the party infrastructure through inclusiveness, made Obama's grassroots work possible, and steered state Democrats from a 6-7 U.S. House deficit to an 8-5 majority, picked up a U.S. Senate seat, and helped turn NC blue for president for the first time since '76, while simultaneously dominating state positions and the NC house and senate? Possibly up for a position on the political staff?
