Here we go again.Seems like Pat McCrory's ad about status quo Bev. was right on the mark!With problems in so many state agencies,why would she want to keep the same cast of characters?Health and Human Services has huge problems(poorly trained staff,etc.),and of course DOT(remember the survey that they tried to cover up the results from the media-the people at the top didn't like the findings(poor oversight of costs,poor inspection procedures-meaning contractors getting by with less than top quality work.)Come on Gov. elect,clean house and start over!!! HOW does a governor earning $120K per year procure and own multiple MILLION $$$ Properties?

Gov. Easely and Gov. Blagojevich have MUCH in common, and the investigation continues in NC!

The budget wording appears to give some more leeway to the governor to set the pay his appointees

Aside from lacking "of" there is an error in that statement...starting in January

Why is all of this money being wasted by the state, yet I've been begging and begging for the money that has been owed to me since June 30 and all I can get is told to quit asking for my money. Did Jack go on the beach retreat this weekend?? I wonder if he spent his own money on that...If she was on leave, she needs to pay the state back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps many state employees are working ( not on leave) and STILL NOT getting paid and our only trip is to the bank to borrow money because our paychecks are not correct

wow what a nice gig. Some of us can't even get a sick day without the threat of disciplinary action. The state will not even accept many staff's notes from M.D.. I have averaged using 2.47 days of sick time per year x 12 years and still worry about getting fired for that. Even though I work at hospital, where you would think they would want you to stay home if sick, they threaten you with write ups if you take sick leave. This lady gets a cool trip while on leave many of us could get neither.

sorry, but neither can obtain enough delegates to lock up the nomination without the superdelegates.

If the supers want to look at popular vote, they should vote with the majority, which would include Michigan and Florida, making Hillary the winner.

And maybe they should look at whether they can win the election with Obama before the give him the nomination. It is clear from PA that he won't carry the moderate democrats, those Reagan democrats who "cling to" their religion and their guns, just like in NC. Why do you think the republican party here is running those ads that link the candidates that endorse Obama with Rev. Wright? It isn't racism, I don't think. Moderate democrats would vote for Colin Powell if he was running. They wouldn't vote for Kennedy or Kerry (obviously), so it has more to do with Obama's extreme liberal position than the color of his skin.

UNChockeygirl, it's unfortunate that the Dem's don't choose their presidential candidate under alternative rules that would ensure that your preferred candidate is the winner. However, both candidates agreed to go by agreed-upon rules. Under the rules that both candidates agreed to, Obama has earned an insurmountable lead. I realize that this is displeasing to you, but that's life. Sorry.

Have you seen this argument before? Makes some sense to me, especially in an electoral college election. Wonder why Dean is still parsing up the delegates and letting them mish mash around? Is he afraid of pissing off the blacks?

If the democrats had a winner take all system like the Republicans do, Hillary would be ahead of Obama by 321 delegates. Now, that total includes superdelegates. However, even if we take superdelegates out of the equation, Hillary is ahead of Obama by 320 delegates. If superdelegates pledge to who won their state, Hillary would be ahead of Obama in supers by exactly 1 point.

Total delegates including Supers:

Hillary - 1937
Obama - 1616

Total delegates not including Supers:

Hillary - 1588
Obama - 1268

These totals do not include Michigan or Florida.

If we include Michigan and Florida:

Hillary - 2304
Obama - 1616
