You're missing one of the larger Facebook groups dedicated to an NC General Assembly bill: North Carolina State Sovereignty Movement has 849 members and is devoted "to convince the NC General Assembly to adopt a resolution declaring NC a sovereign state, under the 10th Amendment."

The corresponding legislation is HR 849, State's Right to Claim Sovereignty Over Certain Powers Under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

Oh, see ya on Monday. Have a great night out in DC RTB!

We'll still be here when you parachute back in on Monday.

I'm sorry you missed her recent coverage of potential wind farms off the coast, a bill to regulate predatory lending, Sen. Burr's campaign finances or a Durham architect with a major federal commission.

Wow, four columns in one month. She's almost a good church going Catholic with that record.

Barb is a great reporter, a regular contributor to Dome and a constant presence on the front page of the N&O. Even if there were other reporters from North Carolina up in D.C., I'd still consider her the best we've got. I'm sorry you missed her recent coverage of potential wind farms off the coast, a bill to regulate predatory lending, Sen. Burr's campaign finances or a Durham architect with a major federal commission.

Yup, she's amazing. Barb gets what based on actual output? $50 a word? Her bi-monthly columns I still don't read are hawt. I know Rob gets more for checking in when he sobers up, but still...

I've heard of Rob.

Btw, I'm not the last N.C. reporter in D.C.! Barb Barrett is reporting for the N&O and the Char-O up here too.

Nah, it's an open profile precisely because I want to interact with readers. You're welcome to friend me — and join the Dome group — as long as you can tolerate the constant stream of status updates.

Hey Brother, I hear ya. With North Carolina unemployment approaching 11 percent that must suck having to do your new DC job interacting with and reporting on us malcontent natives on a blog about North Carolina.

Can't a brother just get a break and hit the hot DC bars on a Friday night?

Sorry RTB, I honestly have never read, let me re-prhase, I can not remember you addressing this before. I never accused you of being a closet anything and have never attacked your objectivity before. It just simply took me off guard when I saw some group names and no I didn't read all 126 of them.

I think you do a heck of a job on this blog, and really didn't mean to give you any flack. However, perhaps you should consider a closed Facebook profile if questions like this bother you so much.

I just find the Kremlinology out there about whether I'm a closet socialist/libertarian/conservative/liberal/whatever to be tedious. This is about the 800th time I've had to explain what should be screamingly obvious about my Facebook page.

I don't know how many times I have to explain this: Yes. I join everything I can find. If you look carefully through them, you'll see that it would be impossible for me to believe every one of them.

GrayJ, I would hope the last NC political reporter in DC signs up for all updates from everyone.

God knows, Rob Christensen couldn't find the Internet with both hands.

RTB I see you are in 126 Facebook groups, some quite political, do you just join any group or are these a reflection of your political views?
