TIME TO STOP THE 'SANCTUARY CITY & STATE' LAWS. We have already seen in Los Angeles the cold-blooded murder of Daniel Shaw, because hae couldn't answer the filthy criminal gang member question--AN ILLEGAL ALIEN.

Same thing happened in San Francisco, under Liberal-Socialist Governor Newsom, who should held accountable for the heinous slaughter of the three members of Bolgna family. Thousands of law-abiding citizens have become "ROADKILL" on the highways and deaths under Sanctuary City & State policies.

Don't let your corrupt Politician, Governor, Mayor, elected officials, church or Business opportunists destroying your community, by flooding them with illegal immigrant poverty and criminal aliens.

SIGN JUDICIAL WATCH PETITION, (www.judicialwatch.org) TO RESCIND ALL 'SANCTUARY CITIES & STATES. This is a legal reputable organization

We might as well get used to undeserving illegal aliens who elbow their ways to the front of the citizenship line. And of course, we'll all have a little less for our own kids because we'll be paying about two-thirds of their tuition. McCain & Obama are gonna' cost America more than their bailout supporters could imagine. I hope the younger generations don't inherit a bankrupt, third-world nation, but I'm afraid that's what these two appeasing, politically correct liberals have in mind for them.

What I find funny is how American's have become afraid of competition. Let's face it, we are a great power because we were willing to take advantage of poor people from other countries. They came here broke and poor and were willing to do any crap job, no matter how dangerous, because it provided a means of LIVING. Now, a couple generations removed, we are a society of morbidly obese, lazy, cowards who are afraid of immigrants.

I guarantee that the hate-spewers above are couch potatoes who are at least 30 pounds overweight and probably eat at McDonald's once a day and "home cooked" meals means processed junk from Wal-Mart. They can't compete with immigrants, so they want to get rid of them. Afraid of competition. Pitiful.

Fear of immigrant workers who are willing to work hard at low wages is probably why our production economy has moved overseas.

Nobody's in charge of John McCain's campaign message right now, let alone the Republican Party. http://enough2008.blogspot.com/2008/09/is-anybody-in-charge-of-republican.html They're floundering.

McCain was right, yet lies about it

McCain is right to back education for anyone who wants it who is in America - this is how our economy can stay strong, and we all benefit from an educated workforce. The illegal immigration problem is largely at the door of employers who hire illegals - if you are a foaming-at-the-mouth jawflappin' xenophobe, then take your sunshine to these employers of illegals and tell them to stop. Otherwise, have a Coke and smile and disengage the mouth.

Gee, didn't Easley agree that preference should be given to illegals in our state college system?

Where was the outrage then?

Accidentally someone told the truth: "They're trying to make voters think there is a distinction between the two candidates' positions where there is none."

Hello Bob Barr, you just earned my vote.

Here is what I don't get. All of you who oppose this bill (the dream act) aren't really aware of what the bill consist of. The bill is very specific and also strict on who gets to benefit from it. This bill does not imply that if you been here long enough without getting caught you deserved to stay. It actually rewards individuals who have been here before the age of 16 (and lived here for 5 years or more from date of enactment) and have not broken the law (besides the obvious and by no fault of their own). What this means is if you have a felony or 3 misdemeanors you’re no longer eligible. (that eliminates the people who you guys claim are not assimilating and dont care to follow the American culture) Im surprised to see that most people who oppose this bill aren't even aware of all the provisions involved with it. This bill would benefit highly motivated individuals like me who want to succeed, who have assimilated, who have been here for the greater part of their lives and don't know anything about their "home" countries.
I have a great understanding of why certain American citizens would oppose this bill. Sure it might seem unfair that this bill would encourage and create more opportunities for illegal immigrants to attend college/universities, while it does nothing to help out American children with their dreams. But let me ask you guys a question, what is stopping American kids from going to college?? They have all the tools necessary to succeed at their disposal. They have a SSN that allows them to apply for FAFSA, they have a SSN that allows them to receive subsidized loans, they are able to receive state grants, they have the ability and paper work to apply for scholarships......the list goes on. Yet i hear time and time again that the opportunities aren't there for them. The opportunities aren’t there because these kids want everything handed to them on a silver platter, well guess what? In this day and age that is just not going to happen, even more so with the economic crisis currently devastation the nation and the ability (for the US) to stay on top/or try to in the global economy.
Now more than ever Americans will have to work harder to get ahead in life. And I’ll be doing the same until the Dream Act becomes law…..

Pending President McCain noted that in the first presidential debate that Barack O. kept saying that he agreed with John McCain--over and over. Then Barack O. comes to NC voluntarily states that he supports community college education for illegal aliens, and THEN makes sure that others know that John McCain supports it too. We don't need a follower as president.

Wake up...Unless this country turns into a China-style police state, the majority of these undocumented folks aren't going ANYWHERE, no matter how hard you wish them away. I'd much rather have an educated future workforce of folks who are trying to better their lives and their communities than the alternative. We either pay now, or pay a much greater price later. As a nation we already have marginalized African Americans, and in many ways continue to do so. A consequence of that history: poverty, crime, gangs, welfare...do we really want to repeat that pattern with yet another group of people?

I do not understand - the title of this article does not match what is in the article. Shouldn't it say "Obama backed comm. college bill" as in the article it says Obama admitted to recently supporting this? You may want to check this N&O (unless you are deliberately trying to confuse your readers).

Legal immigration is not a problem, however I do not believe that illegal immingrants, that have broken our laws to come here should be rewarded for anything. Why is it wrong to ask them to do the right thing by respecting our laws by going home and apply to come into America legally? For many reasons the illegal immigrant believes that we, the American people, should give them unfettered access to our schools, our healthcare system, food stamps, legal issues and let's not forget to learn to speak Spanish simply because they are here and "work hard". Many Americans also work hard and Latinos have not cornered the market on work ethic. I am tired of hearing from many in the Latino community that our country cannot do without them. To say that one group of people--Latinos--should have special treatment is unfair to Americans and other people that are trying to come to this country legally. And because someone is Latino, they should not have the right to pay instate college tuition that is not offered to American citizens. Why should an American give up their college education because they are not able to afford out of state tuition? For anyone to say that I am racist because I expect people to respect our laws, our Constitution and our flag is someone who really does not care about the sovereignty of America.

Obama is just saying we should treat them like the Christians that we pretend to be. The rest of his statements are focused that somehow we have to deal with the issue of undocumented aliens, and loading 12 million people on a flatbed truck is not going to work. Neither will blanket amnesty. Obama does not offer a remedy. Given the raging reaction this subject elicits, he would be fool hardy to offer any kind of a specific plan.
