Maybe this is why Burr is now spreading the word that he was out of his head with panic over first hearing about the impending financial crisis.

Given his unpopular support of the bank bailout among the party faithful, he sure didn't want to get teabagged.

Ryan, I may be wrong about this, but I believe the 25 North Carolina banks you're referring to are actually TARP recipients, and are not (necessarily) the ones that AIG is paying off for these insurance policies.

kay "obamabot" hagen. Outraged over 165mil bonus for aig. That is chicken feed money compared to the bailout, and the budget spending bill,and don't forget the 8000 earmarks. If she wants to here OUTRAGE she should talk to the people in her state. This senate, including hagen will spend this country into the dark ages without remorse. If obama wants it passed, hagen is sure to do her part. Wake-up North Carolina.

Hey Brad, if you hadn't voted for that rotten bailout in the first place (against the wishes of your constituents!), maybe AIG wouldn't have that money to line their pockets with, ehh?

But then again, that would have taken away your opportunity to grandstand (along with Barney, and Chuck and Nancy and the rest of those who voted for the bailout).

With representation like this, does anybody wonder why this country is in such bad shape?

I think it is funny that Hagan is so outraged at AIG. The Hagan campaign accepted over $23,000 in political contributions from Bank of America. A company that has accepted TARP money, similar to AIG, yet there is not outrage from her office about her acceptance of that money. I think Hagan should return that money to the taxpayers' or forgo $23,000 of her Senate salary.

This site that Goss is after is a little more "lively" than the Dome. I don't know if Goss will be able to throttle them or not. He would be better off forgetting about doing it through legislation and letting RTB censor their posts. That would tame them down and lead them into a life of hope, growth and opportunity.
