I try to put "So-and-So reports" in there, but you're not the only one to miss it. I do like the reputation it gives me for being omnipresent, though...

I never left. It's been Barb Barrett and Mark Johnson of the Char-O up there.

So no need for anxiety!

As Willie Nelson sings the last few bars and the Edwards Campaign fades into the night.

RTB - I understand that, you could make an argument that Edwards had a chance until last night. Now he's about as relevant to the discussion as Biden, Dodd, or Paul. Only way he influences the nomination at this point is by conceding and endorsing one of the other two. And truthfully, that is the only thing he'll do that merits press coverage in the coming weeks.

There are about 15 million reporters covering the presidential race. So I get the feeling we'll get all the angles covered when that happens.

Meanwhile, back here in NC, there is a huge void that you've filled very well - State level political coverage. We need you back on the beat, keeping us informed about some very interesting primary races for US Senate, Governor, and Lt. Governor.

We're having a little separation anxiety down here, RTB, please come back home.

Thanks for reading. We had several posts about other candidates in N.H. this weekend, but obviously there's going to be more about Edwards as we are following his campaign most directly. I'm sure New Mexicans feel similarly about Bill Richardson...

RTB - If the N&O is going to continue to send you around the country to cover this race for this STATE politics blog, I hope they'll let you cover the story. I.e. on the Democrat side Obama v. Clinton and the wild west showdown on the Republican side.

I've already seriously cut back my Under the Dome reading b.c. of the focus on a guy that is never going to be President.

If yall continue with the all Edwards all the time theme, I'll have to go with Capitol Beat and the Tavern full time.

You've had your fun. Please get back to what you do well, N.C. State level politics.

By the end of the week, yes. Tomorrow is Thomas Wright, Thursday's the gubernatorial debate, and Pat McCrory is out there, somewhere...

Good night. Thanks for reading.

NO VOTES FOR OBAMA !!!

Who Likes Al Sharpton And Jesse Jackson ??

Obama Is Best BUDDIES With Al Sharpton And Jesse Jackson, So NO Votes For Obama !!!

Forget About Character And Who's Charming And Who's Not. Look To See Who's The Most Qualified Just Like In Todays Jobs....DUH !!

If You Vote Towards Character w/ Little Or No Exp. Over Full Experience, That Is A Very Poor Way Of Voting/Hiring. It Is Exactly What Happened With The Last Election, Now We Have A Knucklhead In The WhiteHouse.

This Country Is In Such A Mess Right Now, We Need Experience 100% Of The Way. America Cannot Afford "Lack Of Experience" At This Day And Time. This Country Needs A Great Economy Like It Once Did Back In The 90's When The Clintons Were In Office And Gain America's Reputation Back In The World, Lets Get Bill And Hillary (a 2 for 1 deal) Back The White House Again !!!

If Barack Obama Is President, I Will Not Be Surprised To See Al Sharpton Or Jesse Jackson As Vice President !!!!!

John Edwards

As I look at things on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, I couldn't be more proud of John Edwards. He has handled himself flawlessly in this campaign. Who knows what will happen tomorrow or later in South Carolina. But whatever happens, John Edwards has emerged as the new voice of conscience in America. What an awesome quality to have in a leader.

"People aren't supposed to actually enjoy New Hampshire, are they? "

Hey, hey, hey!! I was born there. NH is a great state. Just dress very warmly 5 months a year, wear your over the knee mudboots for another month or two and full body armor during the month or so of black fly season and you're fine. What's not to enjoy??

Actually the second half of summer and fall are absolutely gorgeous in NH. Try it sometime.

Re: Is Obama digging at Edwards?

I am really not sure why I waste my time reading this crap. You report that “Edwards says repeatedly that he is "the only candidate" who has never taken a dime from a Washington lobbyist or special interest PAC (political action committee)”. What are trial lawyers? Trial lawyers have no agenda? If Edwards were a Republican, perish the thought, you would challenge him when he made statements that were patently untrue.

I saw Edwards over the weekend when I was channel surfing telling a group of people that he can win in a Red state, citing his election in the North Carolina senate race as proof. Edwards was surely elected alright because the citizens of this great state didn’t know what a lunatic he truly is.

It could be like New Berlin, Pennsylvania. As a result of either World War I or II, the town and area began to stress it as BER-lin in order to distance itself slightly from the German capital Berlin. At least that is the legend I heard as a child.
