If you need to consult the full Claims Department to make such a simple declaration of fact, you probably shouldn't be reporting on budget issues. This is 101 stuff...

Why do you have to find someone to say it? Why don't you just say it?

I'm a dem, but this attack by Hagan is stupid. The nominal level of government spending is irrelevant. As a reporter, you should have the understanding (and balls) to simply say so.

Instead, your post is a "he said/she said" and your readers can decide whether they want to believe Hagan or the OMB spokeswoman.

27th largest budget per GDP in 78 years. That is in the lower half of all budgets since 1930. And actually less than 40% of all budgets since 1930. Hey Bat? What do you have to say now. Your distortion has been proven FALSE.
