Sen. Malone was a titan for our community, and he made a difference. His efforts helped make Wake County such a great place to live. The quality of life we enjoy, and why so many have made this their home is no accident. We should remember that this fall before we dismantle his life's work.

Rosa Gill caused such a divisive and anti-parent atmosphere that she has caused the creation of various pro-parent groups. One is the Wake Schools Community Alliance. This group is a non-partisan group that has more registered Democrats than Republicans or unaffiliateds. And the group includes many ethnic backgrounds if that information is important to any that read this.

They are tired of the Wake County School Board circumventing the US Supreme Court by disguising their across town busing policy as economic diversity. We need to make the schools EQUAL by giving them all the same resources and addressing any failings by teacher and principal retention policies.

Under Rosa Gill the School Board wasted millions to include numerous tranfers of land between angencies that cost us millions when not completed in a timely fashion. And graduations rates that have lagged far below 75% for all demographic groups. Her policies on the School Board have failed the parents of North Carolina. She is a poor choice for the NC State House 33 seat.

Rosa Gill will be kind to you, Paul Terrell III. She's a nice person. She also has the advantage of a modicum of sense, so you're already at a pretty severe disadvantage.

Even in the Democratic Party there is division over who should serve. She picked up one more vote than needed to complete the rest of Dan Blue's term.

It will be a delight in debating Rosa Gill on the issues concerning schools, tax increasing, budget mismanagement and overall government responsibilities.

She created division in our Wake County community over her busing and spending priority policies. I will be ready to challenge her on record and the votes she places now in the NC State House.

The same Dan Blue... who sold his soul and sold out his own party to cut a deal with Republicans to take over the NC House speaker position. Blue showed his true character and lack thereof a long time ago. Nobody has forgotten when your character was tested and you proved to be lacking.

With all due respect, Mr. Paine: Blue lost that speaker's contest by 2 votes to Jim Black. And you still want to talk about true character? I'm sure that in hindsight a few of those Democrats following Black wish they'd followed Blue instead.

Well Basnight and Rand will not let any sunshine into their club. And we will not be able to get any into the Legislature until the Democrats know what it is like to be out of power. Obviously voting for other Democrats has not helped so far.

Blue is a reformer with integrity. Hopefully he could join with like-minded Democrats (Nesbitt, Kinnaird, and Doug Berger) to help open up the good old boys club (plus Garrou) that runs the Senate.

A little sunshine would really do that body good.

I walked to over 8,000 houses and met over 5,000 people doing that alone. I got to know the 33rd House district very well.

I guess they got to know you too.

You knocked on 8,000 doors and got a total of 7,199 votes.

As to my "bullying" assertion that you may be out of step with mainstream America, don't take the voters' word for it... Read your own.
