Why do you conclude that people vote for women solely based on their sex? So by this reasoning, when people vote for men, it's simply because they are men, right? This type of simplistic logic is just erroneous (even though there are surely a few that may do this).

I think voters, like myself, are increasingly choosing women because so many of the female candidates are competent, fair, and reliable! Also, they are often not embroiled in a whole lot of ethics violations. This isn't to say all women are virtuous and all men are lousy legislators. Women are still a minority as far as elected officials go in the state and nation as a whole; but the ones that do tend to run and make a difference are often of outstanding caliber!

Hey, if you look at the last election, whether it was governor or city council positions, women always win when up against a man on the ballot. Hopefully that trend of voting for someone because of their sex will end.

Isn't it about time we seriously look at term limits in Congress. Senators get 2 terms if lucky and congress people get 3.

yeah and Richard Burr has been a "Ball of Fire" voting about 95% along party lines.

With all these democrats running its time for Gerry manding, they like to have the deck stacked by redrawing voting districts. if that fails they can enlist acorn.

How old is that photograph? The photo on her own campaign website makes her look about ten years older than that photo.

Here we go with another government official running for another office without resigning from her current office. She should resign as Secretary of State the day she formally enters the US Senate race. By the way, she's getting in now to try to keep the other, better candidates out.

And then there will be a candidate who will offer a real alternative to the Twettledumb and Twettledumber professional politicians offered by the Democratic-Republican duopoly - Mike Beitler on the Libertarian ticket. He will announce Sept. 17, fittingly on Constitution Day.
