Is there fraud and abuse in the home care business?

You bet your sweet .....! Focus on the word "business." A business is in business to make money. If they were in business to give away health care then I doubt they would send out invoices.

Give me a break. Ask anyone familiar with the process. You can make those trite comments about protecting the elderly but it does not discount the fact that there is fraud and abuse across the board. You might throw in a couple of "standing up for the classroom" slogans too.

Let the home care businesses have a free hand and soon I'll be getting home care too. And I am healthy and 29.

Look at the inset pic of Berger.You can tell he is a few pounds short of a load.To cut funding for the frail sick elderly is unconscionable.His party created this budget mess with out of control spending on pork projects.I am personally contacting all elderly in his district and having their relatives band together to send this incompetent baffoon back where he came from-you can count on that.

Berger needs to be sent home.There is no excuse to cut money for the sick frail elderly.This is the only care they have.Most are all alone.We pay taxes to take care of the weak and helpless in our State.Maybe that pier should go.A better idea is in the next election for Berger to go.
I can assure you I will work to defeat him.

We need more statesmen like Senator Doug Berger -- willing to fight to cut government waste and save taxpayers' dollars even when taking that tough stand might be politically uncomfortable. Thank you, Senator Berger, for being a watchdog for the citizens and for being a good steward of the taxpayers' money.

Certainly, you're right...there are a number of North Carolina voters who do fail to be manipulated by things like logic and reason.

I'm in a health care field, but not at the level these folks are. In the past they have used old, former Governor's like Jim Martin to do their bidding. These folks managed to get old, ex state Senator's like F. Odom on the Board and get relatives in strategic offices like head of NC Dept of HHS. Then they could pursue and play their Certificate of Need games in building Hospital Systems larger and larger. Remember the Medicare coding
deal gone bad and the the threat NC would have to reimburse the Feds? It's been a largely Republican endeavor, but they cover their bets by donating to folks like Tony Rand and Bev Perdue, just in case.

It's politics as usual.

See, all those medical folks DEPEND on the government teat for their livelihoods which makes them part of the CORRUPTION automatically! I know some of these people and what their sick beliefs are...some of these folks have become MEGA millionaires thanks to government fleecing for them.
