Isn't 'Choose Life' an oxymoron for these folks who would rather that no-one actually have a choice ? To me putting a 'Choose Life' license plate on your car infers that you agree that there should be a right to choose - and, as such, there should be no restriction on distribution of money raised from the sale of these plates to organizations that provide that choice.

Mr. Gosh, I drive a Prius, am a certified tree hugger, believe in energy independence, support public education and am in favor of the Choose Life Plate. There are over 85 pregnancy care centers in NC that saw over 46,000 women and men last year at NO taxpayer expense. They are saving the state millions of dollars in social services at NO cost to you or me. With our budget now short of 2 billion dollars and more--remember we can't print money--do we really want to tell those pregnancy care centers that they can't have the $15 off of each plate that are voluntarily bought?

Does Alaska have a "choose life" license plate? Today, Bristol Palin finally spoke out and admitted that it was unrealistic to expect teenagers to abide by the abstinence rule that her backward mother promoted so faithfully. Let's slap one of those plates on her dogsled!!

This measure should never be passed in it's current form.
What is the point?
To raise money?
Then offer to sell both Choose Life and Choose Choice license plates.

and spend the money from each appropriately.

Thanks for elaborating.

No, thank you Citizen. Your point that a few words on a license plate makes girls keep their legs closed like they've done for you all your life is well taken.

Have a nice Gay.

Sorry, I'm a good speller.

However, "teenage father" may be a misnomer in many cases. Studies by the Population Reference Bureau and the National Center for Health Statistics found that about two-thirds of births to teenage girls in the United States are fathered by adult men age 20 or older. The Guttmacher Institute reports that over 40 percent of mothers aged 15-17 had sexual partners three to five years older and almost one in five had partners six or more years older. A 1990 study of births to California teens reported that the younger the mother, the greater the age gap with her male partner. A 1992 Washington state study of 535 adolescent mothers found that 62 percent of the mothers had a history of being raped or sexual molested by men whose ages averaged 27 years.

Poor academic performance in the children of teenage mothers has also been noted, with many of them being more likely than average to fail to graduate from secondary school, be held back a grade level, or score lower on standardized tests. Daughters born to adolescent parents are more likely to become teen mothers themselves. A son born to a young woman in her teens is three times more likely to serve time in prison.

Studies have found that between 11 and 20 percent of pregnancies in teenagers are a direct result of rape, while about 60 percent of teenage mothers had unwanted sexual experiences preceding their pregnancy. Before age 15, a majority of first-intercourse experiences among females are reported to be non-voluntary; the Guttmacher Institute found that 60 percent of girls who had sex before age 15 were coerced by males who on average were six years their senior. One in five teenage fathers admitted to forcing girls to have sex with them.

"Sure, if you people can prevent unwanted births from pedophilia, go ahead with your "choose life" crap; otherwise, think about the tens of thousands of children turned loose upon the streets that no one will adopt and that the mothers give birth to against their will!"

What are you arguing here...where are your statistic to help elaborate on your claim?

James - simply put...what crimes did an embryo commit...what crimes did a man on death row commit...clear distinction.

And yes I know there are cases of wrongfully accused but not as many as that are guilty...
